Re: cct stopper mod
Hi TTF, an interesting thought. As Al (AMcQ46) points out each bike is different in the exact length of the stopper rod (iron cylinder as you call it) required. I think the reason of varying lengths could be down to various stages of the cam chains life, as it must stretch to a degree as the miles ...

the idea would be to insert a 15mm spring powerful and strong enough to push on the chain "skate" once the mainspring breaks

cct stopper mod
hi guys,
I read about making a stopper mod in originals cct...instead of inserting into them one 11mm small iron cylinder, wouldn't it make more sense to put a second spring? is this a bad idea?
sorry for my english

Re: needle shim
my problem is strange because only the front cyl mixture is rich
is the standard pilot screw setting 1-1/4 out correct? maybe I have to lean it only on the front carb

Re: needle shim
The engine is standard and the needles too, right? What fouling do the plugs have? Are you sure it's excess fuel and not oil? If the engine is high mileage then worn valve seals would allow oil in and cause fouling. Worn rings too. engine is ok, I think it's fuel...i can clean the carbon deposit on...

Re: needle shim
thank for the reply, maybe I misunderstood your post. does it make any mixture difference to have or not this shim? is the stock sequence spring-shim-needle the correct one? because my carbs jet are 178 175 (45 middle jet) and still have rich mixture on the front cyl (fouled plug) pilot screw are 1-...

Re: high RPM misfire
I know that coils like to do that at high rpm when they are failing... They will work fine at lower rpm, but as you put more load on them (rpm) they will cause a misfire... but i see you checked that. Also does sound like it could be a fueling problem... Most petcocks have a screen filter inside th...
