Re: Riding help...leaning

Standard tyre sizes work best with the standard wheel sizes, if you go wider the contact patch maybe smaller is it can pull the tyre I. A bit and in effect possible less grip, you could go taller with a 180/60 profile which will make the bike turn in quicker, but std is a safe bet. Bridgestone S22 i...

Selling my Storm (SOLD BUT PLEASE READ 2ND POST)

I do love this bike and when I go out on it I have a great time, I don’t ride it much though and due to some sad health issues I can’t see be riding it much again, maybe one or two times and not far. It will be looking for a loving home, it currently has less than 11000 miles, have MOT, service hist...

Scottoiler crap, will cause grief and keep stopping..
Nice idea but they never work for long and are expensive.

Re: what have you done to your

Thanks for your advice Malcolm, the reason the calipers look mint is because I've already done the toothbrush on the pistons and done the bobbin dance + fluid [emoji1] I figured the next step would be the seals as maybe they're a bit old? I'll recheck the front wheel seating, as I did get a bit whe...

Re: what have you done to your

Had the day off work today and I'm now determined to crack on with the Firestorm! Part 1: Made a start with recovering my seat base. Gave up on that pretty quickly as I can't seem to shape the foam with any of the basic tools I have. A hacksaw blade just tore it up and a new Stanley blade wouldn't ...

Re: Airbox intake snorkel taped up. Why???

Did you replace the filter like for like ?, sounds like you need to go back to how it was then to get it spot in go to a rolling road carb specialist to get the bike properly set up

Re: Riding help...leaning

Mismatched tyres are not ideal, especially when one is new the other squared off.. get a pair on there, some makes and types curl more than others even if they say they are the same size.. if you want road sport then Bridgestone S21 sport/touring then Michelin pilot road 4, in between Mich road 5.. ...

Re: Keep checking your tyres.

I have not seen such an old firestorm wheel in such as new condition with original paint, you must have it wrapped in cotton wool 😂 the paint was so thin at the very least you’d get sort of spider corrosion under the paint. Well done on keeping it so nice 👍 . Digital photo's can be deceiving, altho...

Re: Ding Dong round 5 WSBK

And a couple of wild cards, Tarzan Mackenzie and a bit of a wasted one in Peter Hickman. No offence to Hickman he’s a very good BSB rider and the roads he’s exceptional but he’s never going to be a WSB rider whereas his team mate Ryan Vickers is still young and may one day make the breakthrough. I g...

Re: new to the forum

Honda commissioned RS performance to sort the bikes, they were repainted and had many goodies bolted on but on the Firestorm there was No engine work done, not even sure they altered the jetting but the Remus cans are long and work fine with stock carbs. RS we’re at the time running BSS CBR600’s and...

Re: Newbie - General VTR questions...

Sort forks for £100. K tech linear springs, 10wt fork oil and a 140mm air gap and your there 👍 Rear shock a Nitron is best on a budget but over £400 (doesn’t feel budget) If you spend £500 it’ll be very well spent then if you sell the bike later on sell the Nitron separate and get some money back. .
