Re: Engine Not running smoothly

I often drive to Skelmersdale from my workshop in Galgate, one mile from J33, and it takes me 35 minutes provided there are no hold ups. I am happy to look at the bike if you cannot find a more local expert once we return to normality

Re: Valve Sizing

Accurate or altered valve timing by the use of a crankshaft timing disc, dial gauges with slotted cam wheels even with OEM cams can be beneficial over the OEM stamped timing marks. Obviously, re-profiled cams through to high performance cams all come with their own timing figures which can only be i...

Re: Valve Sizing

The Revolution/Moriwaki race bikes used o/size valves into suitably ported and gasflowed heads. Inlets were +1mm and Exhausts were +0.5mm over OEM. The heads were also skimmed by 28 thou/in.

Re: Fork spring shortening

There are a number of improvement modifications that are perfectly safe to install that affect compression and rebound which do not compromise safety. Shortening progressive OEM springs will make them become coil bound before the full travel of the for is reached. This will cause the front wheel to ...

Re: Fork spring shortening

The total length of the spring + spacer ONLY (without the washers) should be 410mm. Cutting down springs is a dangerous practice . You can have a serious accident as a consequence. Front suspension is not something that should be subject to "trial and error" with the dramatic changes you p...

Re: Wanted Stage 2 or 3 Moriwaki Cams and Springs

The only Moriwaki camshafts that were produced for the General Public were Stage1 and Stage2. Stage1 was designed to run with OEM valve springs and Stage2 was designed to run with the Moriwaki valve spring kit to prevent the OEM valve springs becoming coil bound and valve bounce. Stage3 camshafts we...

Re: 121bhp!

The Revolution full Moriwaki ST1 Firestorm street bikes produced 123bhp to 125bhp @ R/wheel. This figure was verified on a number of independent Dynos. Depending on the specification 121bhp could be a reasonable figure.

Re: MORIWAKI STAGE2 ENGINE PARTS

The rolling chassis is not the original and is virtually OEM. I assume as the bike was built by Revolution as an Endurance Race bike in 2003 the original chassis has been destroyed. I understand that a previous owner (not the seller) used the bike as a trackday bike.

Re: Airbox Mods

PiperX filters are difficult to set up in the mid range but it is not impossible by any means. To improve the efficacy of K&N filters you can wash them thoroughly in degreasing agent to remove all the oil and run them completely dry.

Re: Less engine braking, lighter throttle

A lighter fly wheel will reduce engine braking and increase throttle response speed. Removing the return throttle cable is a well trodden pathway.
