Re: E10 fuel

What's your concern, knock rating or the effect that ethanol has on rubber or plastic components? If sold as 95 or 98 Ron the knock rating will be the same, I would have thought? The leaded thing was about valve seat deterioration due to the lubricating effect of the lead, not the knock rating bein...

Re: E10 fuel

Thank you for that, apparently super unleaded contains little or no ethanol so there is that option for mowers and the like, and of course my old Landy.

E10 fuel

The latest idea to save the planet is the introduction of E10 fuel to the UK. Do our bikes run on it, or is this another nail in the coffin of older vehicles? Certainly my 1967 Land Rover won't take it. I know they will keep producing E5 for a while, just as they did with 4 star, will it last though...

Re: Speedo stopped working

I had something similar on mine, I replaced the sensor cable and all was fine for a while.
Then it started playing up again, I simply loosened the bolts that fix the sensor to the gearbox, since then all fine.
I am tempting fate here, aren’t I!

Re: Speedometer not working??

I may be too late but when I had this problem, all that was needed was to loosen one of the bolts on the gearbox that attaches the cable. So simply a poor earth.

Re: I l ran my fuel tank dry

No, you don't. You have about 3 litres. Enough for a safeish 20 miles. I ran dry at 24 miles from the red light. They must vary as I managed 20 miles with the light shining on the motorway before I got to a fuel station, it held same as it always does when I fill it asap when the light comes on, ab...

Re: I l ran my fuel tank dry

Sorry I am not any help to you, but how much did the bike actually take to fill up? I only ask as I dont really believe the 16 litre figure. I ran mine dry (coasting into a petrol station) and filled up (to the brim) sitting on the bike. Got 16.5 litres in it. Thanks, good to know that when the &qu...

Re: Greetings from Enfield Stormer!!!

Welcome, another north london storm! Has the regulator rectifier been upgraded? That can be another little "experience" like all hondas of the period. As for pipes lots to choose from, mine are loud with the baffles in and silly without! As a guy on a rideout said "Love your bike, hat...
