Re: Jack up kit ?
I was looking at the rear linky & thinking i could drop it a little bit, adding a slightly bigger dent in the link pipe was my next question, i thought that would affect performance due to the exhaust bore size changing ? I think i might try the dropping of the rear link pipe to collector box fi...

Jack up kit ?
Right, many moons ago i raised the back end by fitting washers to the top of the shock, this was a trial you understand to see if i liked the idea, i loved the change in handling but i was left with a problem. The problem is the chain running across the exhaust link pipe, not ideal in any modificati...

Re: Back to original colours
if its a 19L '02 model, it has no tail decal In that case it is right, Always wondered if it had been re-painted. Looks like Honda did a few variations, I have firestorm on the fairing and Honda(wings) on the tank? Mine is a 99 model with the 19l tank conversion, i suppose with the seat panel stick...

Re: Back to original colours
The Art cans are fantastically loud, i came acroos a small group of bikers on the weekend & joined on the back of them for part of my journey, they were all on sv 650/1000 cc bikes, it took them a while but they all realised the suuden rise in decibels was me on the back of their group, i think ...

Re: Why did you choose the storm
Noise ! The one i bought was a bit rough around the edges but as soon as Solorider started it up i handed the money over before i took another breathe, i have tidied her up a fair bit now & i am on the verge of selling her due to needing better fuel economy, unless i can find a way to make her r...

Back to original colours
The motivation for this was the prvious MAG protest ride on the A303 where i seemed to be the only storm in the whole procession, made me feel like i was flying the flag & felt the original spec bike with a tasteful lowers upgrade represented the bike well, i seemed to be the loudest bike there ...

Re: GOOD TURN OUT MAG RUN LFE
I was at the Salisbury/Andover Solstice services run, it was friggin awesome, we had about 2 miles of bikes riding down the A303 to Popham services, took my youngest boy (17) on the back & his eyes were popping out his head at the variety of bikes on show, some nice police bikes were there as we...

25 sept Mag protest ride
Just read in MCN that there is a MAG protest ride on the above date at 1200hrs meeting in services all over the country, this is against EU regulations being put forward to prevent mods to all bikes from the airbox through to the rear tyre. As all firestorm owners are aware this will greatly affect ...

Re: Carole Nash Insurance
Went with Carole Nash, cost me £127 tpft, The police gave me 3 pts for exceptional riding in 2009  & i listed a max of 5 mods. The only real difference is the fact that during june they were including excess insurance for free, & you get breakdown cover with the AA as standard, don...

Re: driving licence update
The old ones are still valid, my advice is to keep hold of the old paper style licence for as long as you can, my mother still has hers , there is no need to get the new type unless you have to change your details, dont move house & you wont need to send it off to dvla racketeering branch for re...

MCE Bike insurance
MCE are quoting me £130 with £0 voluntary excess, legal cover, RAC breakdown on a fully comp policy, seems to be quite good at the moment.
And you get the club mce with the BSB benefits, i am gonna start my policy tomorrow & quote MCN compare cos they are giving away goodies in July !

Re: Carole Nash Insurance
MCE are quoting £130 including £0 voluntary excess, legal cover & breakdown cover with rac, i have also listed 5 mods on my bike with them, god knows how much a standard bike would cost to insure, about £10 probably.
