Calling all Orgers, help needed in aid of help for heroes!
Morning all :D I'm an active member on the vw t4 forum and the forum collective are building a van to be raffled off with all proceeds being donated to Help for Heroes. All i need from you all is a moment for you to vote for the van on the Top Gear Cool Wall so we can open up the lead again as the o...

Re: Coolant Temperature and Fuel Consumption
I had a similar problem with mine reading 1/4 on the guage at speed even though in town it goes up to half way and the fan kicks in. I spent £40 on a new thermostat (yes £40 for a stat :wtf: ) and its exactly the same :confused I however dont suffer with the fuel consumption issue and get about 10...

Re: Bloomin Rip off Spares
Thermostat £37.32 plus £5.30 postage from David Silvers, must be solid gold or something for that money. Strange that a stat for a car can be had for about a fiver

Re: Your thoughts on raised cans??
Looks good! Have you tried releasing the clamps and pulling the cans off the link pipes slightly? Doesnt look like you need to gain much to clear the badges.

An impact wrench and a tight fitting allen key worked for mine, didn't want to take the risk of mullering it.

Re: Ohh what a splendid day !!
I drive a 1994 VW Caravelle camper conversion as my daily drive/holidays and the bike is for fair weather commuting and fun. The good thing with the van is althought its done a lot of miles i have had it for years and i know the engine pretty well. I have replaced the head with new and done the camb...

Re: Polyurathane cush drive, good idea?
There are a couple of places that do them in the US for race bikes but they dont make them for big twins. I will look into it an let you all know.

Polyurathane cush drive, good idea?
I have recently spoken to a company who can produce polyurathane cush drive rubbers. I'm not sure on the price or anything yet but i think they would be a cool addition especially to big twins with all that initial torque. The pro's and cons i can think of i have listed below, what are your thoughts...

It could be advantageous; you could use the old boy to stop you sliding forward and crushing your balls, could be painful if you brake too hard and bent it in halfVTR Marmite wrote:Don't take it before a trip on yer bike either, that would cause problems

Re: Miss Your Storm - Would you? Do You? Why?
I changed from an SV650 to the storm and its good but not what i was expecting. The gear change is awful and clunky and nowhere near as slick as the SV, the power doesn't seem to be a great deal more than the SV, its scary in the wet, hard work in town and the annoying rattle will probably see the ...

Re: First ride on a VTR1000 - Im in love...
Only recently got mine and i love it, the trouble is the weather is too dodgy to ride with any confidence in case i drop it. I'm either freezing cold and stiff as a board or just paranoid of ice. The mrs has already come off the SV at 5 mph on ice and i dont want to do the same to my bike. I have la...
