Re: What tyres?

not to sound like an idiot, and I know it's dumb, BUT:
has anybody mounted a 200 tyre on a VTR?
will it rub against the chain guard or the swingarm?
I have an opportunity to get some tyres cheap, that 's why i am asking

Re: Battery

Looking to change mine as well. I ordered a Yuassa. I wanted to cancel the order the last minute, but was too late.( i had realized too late that i had more important things to spend money, besides the battery, since the current one still works) The yuassa has arrived, it's at the service shop, but i'm ...

Re: CCT in depth

I'm currently at work. I looked at the links posted by you and they are very helpful. I'm certain that I'll attend the rectifier mod the next spring,as it is the easiest one, and take a look at the swing-arm/rear shock bearings as well. Mine is a 2000 model (firestorm/yellow). I'll be needing to cha...

Re: CCT in depth

I appreciate your advices as to get 'technical', but as stated above, when it comes to CCTs & other important stuff, I'd rather NOT start learning with my bike, with changing CCTs & etc.

PS: I'm from Romania.

Re: CCT in depth

thanks a lot for your input, but I can assure you that I won't touch the CCTs. Perhaps in the future I'll manage to change the oilr or something, but changing the brake fluids, brake pads, CCTs & other important stuff, I'm better off knowing that somebody more professional is doing it rather tha...

Re: CCT in depth

I already hear the CCTS specific rattle ( and i don't mean the usual rattle, but the one that warns the inevitable). I've got the bike for 2 months and so, and I thought I would investigate the CCTS in depth next spring (or until the spring). I figured I can still ride from time to time until the wi...

CCT in depth

I 'd like to ask for some help from a more 'technical' person who has the patience to answer some questions for me regarding the VTR (CCTS to be more precise) So if there are any patient & willing volunteers, please PM me with your ym ID /im ID or something. I don't wish to start some topic abou...

Re: Bafflectomy (or related)

First I've drilled about 6 holes into each end plate baffle... Sounded better but still wasn't what I was going after. then decided to remove the back plates & the small tube baffle. all that remained inside each can are the interior baffles. Now there is a very strange & disturbing thing ha...

Bafflectomy (or related)

Yes, I know there are several threads regarding bafflectomy (some with explicit pictures) but I'm still puzzed (either that, or I'm retarded). Got rid of my single Leo Vince exhaust (traded it for the two stock mufflers setup, since I've couldn't find the pair for Leo Vince) ALthough before it was r...

CCT

Can somebody tell me what type of CCTs can be fitted on honda VTR 1000F, besides the OEM ones from HONDA? I've heard something about manual adjusted APE, but have no idea where to purchase them. So if somebody has any ideas where to get CCTS (manual ones),what brand/type and where they can be bought...

rear suspension

Can somebody tell me what sort of suspension the VTR has at the rear?
VTR from 2000 (year)
mine is showa and I wanted to know if showa comes in as stock/standard, or if it was changed by the previous owner.

Re: Never-ending oil & filter questions

Thanks for your input Wicky. I used Motorex Formula 15-50 semi-synthetic and Champion oil filter. I'm not in UK, i'm a bit more southern in Europe, a bit warmer than UK I presume. Can you point in this picture where the gasket fits? I know my way around english words but I get a bit lost when techni...

Re: Never-ending oil & filter questions

I got a bit carried away with the bad news, so I'll take it one step at a time. After the visit to the mechanic he told me that this bike might have been used for track. It was repainted, probably the engine was changed (he's not sure about that until he takes a closer look). The camchain & chai...

Re: Never-ending oil & filter questions

I made a visit today with my VTR at the mechanic and I'm down with some very bad news.. Seems that I bought this bike from a retard "dealer" who bought it from a guy who didn't take that much care of it. I think it was re-painted, it's missing the left side Leo vince exhaust. And I was tol...

Re: Never-ending oil & filter questions

Hi kevg, I didn't know it is a standard (the cowl), but i'm not the first owner of the bike so....i presume it got 'lost' somewhere... The thing is I just need one. I've tried ebay, but no luck. regarding the bellypan, can you be more specific (as to what M&P refers, etc) if you can guide me to s...
