All this chat about getting a knee down reminds me of how I was taught to do this. On Sunday out in a parking lot at a mall (I'm from Canada, eh, and we used to have Sunday shopping laws, as NO SHOPPING ON SUNDAYS!!) I buddy who raced took me out there and we just went around in a big circle, he tol...

VTR Suspension Set-Up
I've done the suspension on my VTR and a friend's VTR as well, I just went with the mods suggested by Roger, and new springs and fork oil, while my friend went with the all that plus the Gold Valves. We have had very good results with the bikes, VERY GOOD. In my case if you take out the expense of t...

HELP!!!! Gold Valves!!
Guys, a quick answer is needed here. It is now 4:30 PM on Saturday, I have a good friend coming over with his VTR on Monday morning early to swap out his forkspings and oil, and put in gold valves. I've done the spring swap, and am not in the least bit worried about that, but not the gold valves. I ...

Superbike Bars
Greeting all! I have "Heli-bars" on my VTR, I like them a lot, much nicer than the stock clip-ons. Now I have become bored with the very stock looking bike, I was thinking of having some fun and jazzing it up some how. Well I was trolling through Yahoo Auction the other day and I found a t...

Well I'll find the mag for you and scan it if you like, but I remember that compared to the TLS, a Duc and something else, the VTR did not do as well, the pro drag race dude that they had with them on the 1/4 mile test said that the clutch was too grabby. I'll tell you what my bike does; If the clut...

Funny I came off and old (85) GSXR to the VTR, and I get the same thing, if the revs are up abit, and you let the clutch out, it rocks the front wheel skyward and makes a godawful sound, scared the sh1t out of me a few times. In reading up about it, I have found in the mag tests that came out in 97 ...

Get hold of Roger, he will set you up. You are in the UK, ya? if you can go over to his shop (make an appointment) I understand he does very good work and is fast, he should be, I bet he can take a VTR apart with his eyes closed 8) Roger took my weight and recomended the springs and oil as well as t...

Fluffy is right on target, that is what I'm doing. I got the bike sprung for my , ah, weight  and that made a huge diff in the bike, the right oil and air-gap, as well as Roger's advice (via E-mail, I AM in Japan) on setting the static sag, and there you go, $99.95 for springs, about $15 for f...

I just put the racetech spring in to my weight (20 stones  ) and the new fork oil, ah 7.5W I think, the change in the bike was gobsmackingbloodysuperunreal!! Over the winter (in January, as I'm too busy now) I will do the gold valve and I may even go for the new rear shock, (Roger says the Pen...
