Ok, I've now used silicon spray on the tube, but a bit of grease on the cable ends and along the last couple of inches. Seems pretty good.

I've had a few bikes over the years and belong to about 6 or 7 forums and hand on heart i can say this by far exceeds the standards of the others, the level of help on here is second to none, the advice is always spot on and the forum has people that can supply parts at almost cost price or advise ...

Throttle grip - lubricate?
I've got my throttle grip off and I've cleaned it all out - does it go back together dry, or should it be lubricated, and if so, what lube?
