Replacement alternator stator needed

Hi guys,

I'm pretty sure I need to replace the alternator stator on my '99 Firestorm.

Is there any that I should avoid, who's the best supplier, best price etc?

I've found this one at BB Bikeshop:

Are these ok?

Many thanks, Mike.

Re: Adjusting rear shocks and front forks

Presumably you don't want them softer to improve handling?
The problem I have with mine is when I hit bumps in the road - it's like I haven't got any suspension!
Is that what you get?

Re: DOES YOURS

Nope, mine needs full choke to start on a warm morning, and stays on for a mile or so.

Re: Storm not charging properly

It's certainly starting to look like the alternator. Over the last couple of days I've been monitoring the caharging - with the engine running the voltage is around 13.8v, revving it brings it up to 14.5v. But I've just checked it again now and it was sitting at 13v - even when revving it. Turned th...

Storm not charging properly

Hi, I'm having some woes with my storm :( Occasionally, I turn the engine off then when I try to restart it the battery's dead. A jump start from a car battery gets it running again, and it'll run all day. If I keep it running and check the voltage, I find that it's low - around 8 or 9 volts. The vo...

Re: Odometer question

I was told that the usual mod to do on these was to go down one tooth on the front (and that'd only cost about £6)?

Re: Flies are open

I always carry a small spray bottle filled with windowlene (the clear version) and a piece of paper towel in my jacket pocket - at traffic lights I can quickly whip it out and clean the outside of my visor without removing helmet or gloves (and then I whip the windowlene out...)

Re: Firestorm newbie

Hi, welcome. Nice to see a standard one. Shiny, too! Yes, when I was looking around for a Firestorm I decided it's either got to have nice mods that are tastefully done, or be totally standard. I paid a little over the odds for this one, but it was in such good condition I felt I couldn't let it go.

I've been looking for a decent Firestorm forum since I got my bike and I've finally found one :D
