I'm pretty sure I need to replace the alternator stator on my '99 Firestorm.

Is there any that I should avoid, who's the best supplier, best price etc?

I've found this one at BB Bikeshop:

Presumably you don't want them softer to improve handling?
The problem I have with mine is when I hit bumps in the road - it's like I haven't got any suspension!

Nope, mine needs full choke to start on a warm morning, and stays on for a mile or so.

250N Superdream, GP125, GS550E, Z650SR, C90, 250X7, GPZ1000RX - then a 17year break - 600 Diversion, CBR600 F-M (still got) and now Firestorm.

I was told that the usual mod to do on these was to go down one tooth on the front (and that'd only cost about £6)?

I always carry a small spray bottle filled with windowlene (the clear version) and a piece of paper towel in my jacket pocket - at traffic lights I can quickly whip it out and clean the outside of my visor without removing helmet or gloves (and then I whip the windowlene out...)

Forget the speed comparison - what about comparing their looks....

Hi, welcome. Nice to see a standard one. Shiny, too! Yes, when I was looking around for a Firestorm I decided it's either got to have nice mods that are tastefully done, or be totally standard. I paid a little over the odds for this one, but it was in such good condition I felt I couldn't let it go.
