Never used Silkolene in the VTR, but used it in my old Velo and it was very good (certainly on a par with Castrol GP50). The cams would wear out rapidly if it was run on "car oil". Plus Silkolene used to be "made" (think it was a recycled oil) in Belper so it must be good!!

No centre-stand, just a prop-stand.

No fuel guage, but an orange light indicator when you get down to around 3 ltrs (which happens pretty dam quickly!).

Some other time then perhaps. Incidentally, in a moment of madness I tried to book up for a Track Day at Combe, but it was full. Apparently they fill up real quick.

Simplest is M5 J15 onto M4 East towrd London. M4 J17 A350 South tward Chippenham, Melksham Trowbridge. Take ringroad around Chippenham and join A420 West towrd Bristol. Look out for B4039 on right 1.5 miles (or so) on. Should I think be signposted to Combe. In fact I think Castle Combe circuit is si...

Had my storm from new and I've never been able to change up using the clutch without crunching the gears - unless that is I let the revs die to tickover (tractor like!). Clutchless changes seem much slicker and quieter, and work better the harder I welly it.

Perhaps Honda have fallen into the same trap as the car manufacturers where models get progressively heavier and less powerful (same as people too I guess) as the Eurocrats pass ever more stupid rules on emissions and the like - but then they'd have to lose a lot of power to make that much differenc...

You need to scroll back through the Index (probably under Workshop). There is at least one excellent piece on suspension. If you can't find it let me know your e-mail address and I can send it to you.

Weeman

Sorry I missed this. Could have made it, but haven't been watching the site much lately. Passed Bassett lots of times on the way home from Derby. Saw 100's of bikes (almost outnumbered by police cars) one night, but thought it was a one-off event.
