I spoke to their service manager about my servicing complaint and he told me that Hartgate have been established for over 20 years and have a "great" reputation, which they want to maintain. He felt that because it took me so long to identify the fault it was not Hartgate's responsibility ...

I think we should spread the word about the incompetence of Hartgare to other Honda forums on the net.

Hopefully they will lose so many customers that they will go out of business.

Vindictive? me?

I have had problems with Hartgate servicing my Storm, see my thread in Dodgy Dealers section.

They really do take the biscuit and don't deserve any mercy.

Complain to trading standards if they do not listen to your complaint, I did.

Beware Hartgate of Mitcham

Just thought I'd share a recent communication that I have sent to Hartgate: Dear Sirs, HONDA VTR 1000 - LA02NFL It has now been a few months since my Firestorm went in to your workshop, for an 8,000 mile service. When I got the bike back it was clear that the it was misfiring, often stalling and bac...

SP2 Break Master Cylinder

There is one going on e-bay at the moment and I want to fit it to my bike.

Problem is all the posts on this forum refer to the SP1 only.

I know the SP1 master cylinder has a different part number to the one for the SP2, but does anyone know if it will fit??

SP1 Brake master cylinder

Does anyone know if the complete SP1 assembly goes straight onto handlebar and accepts the standard Firestorm brake hoses?

Does it really make such a big difference to the brakes???

I was at the Oakdene at about 10am yesterday hoping to meet you guys and saw the bootsale and general chaos. Drivers u-turning and pulling out all over the place. One of them nearly hit my girlfriend on her Hornet. I had a similar incident in 2002 when a bloke u-turned his Jag into my ZX-6R, I was r...

I have had the same problem lately. But I can't find a damn leak in the 'zorst system. There was a slight air leak on one of the joins with my Scorpion headers, but I've fixed that and cannot feel any air blowing out, even if I block up the ends. To be fair the backfire has got a bit better, or rath...

I've got a pair of Diablo Corsas, which I bought for the 'summer'. As there has not been a summer I have worn the back out pulling weelies up and down the A2 (new 15t sprocket you see). I recon the rear will be gone in 500 miles and I must have done about 1k so far. Brill tyre, but perhaps a bit oo ...

I've got Scorpion cans, a K&N filter and a dyno-jet kit.

The thing is that it was not popping at all before the service and I don't think that they would have bee nfiddling around with the exhaust, so it's probably running a bit lean in that case.

Goes better than it did though.

Hello, I have had my Storm serviced last week and it now pops on the overrun, which it did not do before. I think that they have made the mixture richer. As an upside it now has a hell of a lot more mid range. Any ideas how I can get rid of the popping, whichout killing the mid-range? Thanks, Dan

I've had my Storm jetted and K&N'd after fitting some Scorpions about 18 months ago. It ran really well, no popping on the overrun, hardly any stalling once warmed up, smooth as etc. I took the bike to Hartgate Honda in Mitcham, London for a service and asked them to change the oil and balance t...
