Hi Mav,

You are always welcome here. Good to have a fellow DL650 rider around as well.

Re: New fork seals

Thanks for the prompt replies gents. Honda parts will, of course, work. I was just curious about good alternatives that may be a little cheaper. I have a Matrix FSE kit sitting here ready to be fitted to my V-Strom over the winter. In preperation for that I ordered up the Wemoto fork seal kit. But ...

Re: Here is Practical Explanation about Next Life, Purpose of Human Life, philosophical/religious facts,

And God said, “Let there be a Firestorm Forum,” and there was Firestorm Forum. And God saw that the Firestorm Forum was good. And God separated the contributers from the trolls. https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.quickmeme.com%2Fimg%2F85%2F85a8a3478926131c6e8d3602845e465e...

Re: Engineering group idea - thoughts please

Thanks for the feedback. My thought was for something more general than something centred around the forum but I can easily see forum members feeling the benefit. Basically exactly what Tony said only probably just a lathe and MIG and/or TIG as a starting point. My dad is into woodwork & woodtu...

Re: Woohoo! More oil please

Brilliant posts 👍 Someone needs to get a grip of the situation and explain to the protesters that they need oil for a lot more than fueling their vehicles and planes/boats for their annual holidays. If we stop producing it then we will only have to import it from other countries. Why don’t they go ...

Re: Old man eyes

Getting old is a complete pain in the butt. I'm short sighted so wear contact lenses tuned for distance for riding & driving but now have three sets of reading glasses for using the computer, reading & close up work. With everything requiring an app on your phone to do anything it is a nighm...

Re: Brake calliper question/s

The main issues with binding brakes, apart from making the bike harder to push around, will be the bike feeling like it is wanting to tip into a corner due to the draggin brake and, if it left too long, warped disks due to overheating which you will start to feel through the bars as a flapping of th...

Re: Starter relay

The 30A fuse is the main fuse between the battery and the bike's electrical system. From what I can see, most Hondas use a unit with a 30A fuse.

Re: Starter relay

I had similar issue. First start in 5 years and starter +ve was grounded through rust, which blew the relay up! As a side question - anyone know what the ‘gunk’ is inside all the connectors on the loom and should it be cleaned out before things are reconnected? It will be dielectric grease. It non-...

I would completely agree for a healthy battery subject to a normal charge.

Re: MOTOBATT Battery

Who knows what is going on inside the battery if it has been subject to a high charge voltage from a knackered RR. A multimeter has a very high internal resistance so will not be loading the battery so you could be getting the strange reading due to the messed up chemistry inside the thing. That's w...

Re: MOTOBATT Battery

Sounds like your regulator rectifier unit is knackered and is not limiting the charging voltage to 14.4V. That will have "cooked" your battery. You may get a static high voltage reading off of it representative of the overcharge voltage but the "cooking" will have damaged its abi...
