Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

Yesterday I had 3 hrs on the M1000RR BMW……. Sh1tting hell, that is an overkill bike. The seat, the suspension, everything is Just solid.. you don’t feel the traction, you just have to trust and push harder. It was a huge transition from the baby Ducati, and even the BMW owner wanted to keep the Duc...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

I've had a pulsing vibration at wheel speed from the front discs for ages, so took my Brembo discs ( on the Aprilia) to Maidstone Motoliner a few weeks back to have them trued. But I still had pulsing, so, today I cleaned the discs using fine emery and Scotchbrite pads, and I also cleaned the pad f...

Re: HB the Duffster.

Sorry to hear of your Mum passing Duffy, my condolences to you and all of your family, Chris. Thanks Chris it was very sudden. I had only spoken to her the night before. I got a call from my sister that she had been taken to hospital, but she was 120 miles away and sadly passed before I could get t...

Re: does VTR1000 2001 has lambda probe?

Not as standard. They're only needed with fuel injection systems. But I added two lambda wideband sensors in the downpipes and connected a display to show real-time air/fuel stoichiometric ratios when riding, to aid carb setup, on my tuned firestorm. It saved the cost of repeated Dyno runs whenever...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

I think the hire company did me a favour now, the 900cc engine might be the perfect size for these type of roads on this island, where the 1200 V4 might have been too much of an animal. I have only found one road on a steep uphill climb where I didn’t have enough grunt to fire out of the turns as f...

Re: GrainStorm IX

What a difference a day makes. USB port fitted and working, tracker reconnected. Only the seat and one side panel off. Mind you, I was thinking about how to test each wire and diagnose yesterday's problems most of the night... Time for a BBQ and some cold beers  💨 Bloody Italian bikes. It'll ...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

Well i am growing to like the little V2 Ducati, its light, agile and with good brakes and suspension it is working with me to keep up with the big boys on the mountain roads. Being a hire bike, the lack of mechanical sympathy i am showing it is not my problem 8O So far I have rotated the bars forwa...
