Re: For you lovers of British Bikes.
Good site. If your into British bikes then I can recommend SRM http://www.srmclassicbikes.com 01970 627771 for anything from parts to a full restore. My cousin works there as an engineer and i've known Geoff Dewhurst the Managing Director for about 30yrs. The quality of their work is 2nd to none and...

Re: wat air filter?
I've allways used K&N filters, not sure if they're any better than other makes.
One reason I don't put standard air filters on is that K&N might a bit more expensive but they're reusable, give 'em a wash re-oil and chuck them back in, saves money in the long run.

Snapped chain damage
Chain snapped on my SP1 yesterday and it don't look too good :( 3 out of the 4 bolt holes on the engine casing that hold the sprocket cover and clutch slave cylinder on have been smashed off. I doubt it can be repaired but if anyone has any ideas i'd appreciate it. At least I didn't get thrown off t...

Re: 1000 miles with the SP
Good write up, have to agree with you it's not town bike in any shape or form. Get it on the open road and it comes into it's own, which is a pure pleasure to ride, miles of smiles and thats what it's all about. The handling is spot on but it does require a bit more rider input to get the most out o...

Re: Looked at an SP yesterday
Standard seat on my SP1 and I get no probs when I go from Hungerford to Aberystwyth and back, about a 400 mile round trip. Have to be honest tho, my ass isn't on the seat very much when I hit the Welsh roads :D Going back to the orig topic of this post, £4100 for an SP1 in that condition, they're e...
Re: SP1 trip

SP1 trip
This has happened a few times, everytime I refuel I reset my trip so I know when to start looking for a garage.
But a few times when i've stopped, come back to the bike, switched on and the trip has reset to zero.
Anyone got any ideas?

Re: SP Fueling
I've got the same prob on my SP1, it's a little better since I fitted the Power Commander and loaded the correct map for my zorts but I think it needs a bit of fine tunning.
Due for a major service very soon, as soon as i've got that done then it's onto a rolling road for a bit of tweaking.

Re: 2009 summer meetup.
I've got enough room for about 12>15 tents in my garden and enough parking space for 400+ bikes (I ain't joking) if that's any use to anyone.
I'm about 15 miles south of Swindon,

Re: 4 Wheels!
Haven't had a ford for a couple of years, last one was a ST24 V6 Mondeo.
Good solid car but found it a bit tame compaired to the MR2 turbo I had prior to getting the ST24, can't afford a decent car and run the SP1 so now got a very tired, clapped out Vectra.

Re: thinking about running away
I haven't done it but I have thought about it.
The farm I work on is closing down sept/oct, i'm not only going to be out of work but also need to find somewhere else to live, I live in a tied house i.e. it comes with the job, no job = no house
