Even if you could get a new switch it would be bloddy difficult to replace the one in the tank. Remove the sponge pad from underneath the tank and check all the cables there are in good condition, my friend had this problem and found one of the cables had snapped, fixed it with some speaker cable an...

That kind of money? I cant see carb slides being that expensive, even if they are im sure i could pick up some carbs off a low mileage storm for about 45 quid. Oh and ive already brought race cans :-)

Right, after speaking with Steve last night i reckon its the carb slides causing the tapping, now me being the tart i am want to replace them :-) I dont suppose anyone knows if Honda do these parts seperatley or weather you have to buy the whole carb which im not planning on doing.

Right ive balanced the carbs and given the bike a full service. In the last 2 weeks its had the valves adjusted, the cam timing done, oil filter, oil, sparks and a new air filter (not that an airfilter would cause it to tap) and the wombles (sorry to swear) is still tapping slightly, i think ive nar...

From the noise you described i would bet on it being the tensioner. Your bike is at the sort of mileage when they start to go aswell. If Chiswick Honda want to fix it for you then let them but knowing them they'll want your bike for a while. Personally id be tempted to change the tensioners myself s...

It all depends on how many miles youve done. I would definatley check the cam chain tensioner first. A new one will cost you about 23 quid so if it isnt that you havent lost a great deal, but i know a few people who thought their bikes were knackered when it was just the tensioners that needed repla...

Welcome to the forum matey. Get yourself a haynes manual, youll find that most of the stuff in the major service is fairly simple, the only thing i wouldnt attempt is the valve clearences. Mainly because its a pain in the butt. Hope you enjoy your bike and give us a shout if you need any help with a...

Yeah its definatley a top end tapping, the cam timing has just been done so it cant be that, that only leaves the carbs. HHHMMM i just need to get me hands on some vacuum gauges. :?

If youre not going to be riding the bike in the rain too often i would recommend Pirelli Dragon SuperCorsas you wont find a better tyre in the dry and ive had about 3000 miles out of mine so far. Great tyres!
