Re: Plastic repair & prep on fairings with pics

The more glass you put in makes it stronger but does take longer to dry so add more hardner. Use a heat gun / hair dryer to set it going off quicker in this weather . Make sure you leave enough room for a scim of top filler to ultra smooth though.

Re: Plastic repair & prep on fairings with pics

I've never tried plastex, a bit pricey considering a can of Ipson P40 is half the price. I always use p40 for large holes and then P38 for the fine stuff and any large holes that need bridging I use wire mesh which is then filled over. (:-}) Try mixing the two together. This gives you the added str...

Re: Poor Condition

[quote="cybercarl"] It sickens me some of the stories I hear about garages, and the thing is because the person who has taken their vehicle there hasn't a clue, they get ripped off. A garage can say it was this or that and 9 times out of 10 the person will just tell them to fix it. Ho...

Re: Poor Condition

The matter is in hand. The bike will not be returning to revalution racing due to other matters and concerns having been brought to my attention. They didnt fix it in the first place so there must be more to this than meets the eye. Thats why they do not want it inspected by an independent mechanic ...

Re: Farécla G3 or G6 Rubbing Compund

The prep is more important than painting, all mistakes show through paint work. crack on with the de nibing now Not much pressure will be needed if you do it now before fully hardened., stay away from any sharp edges with the paper. Paper + polish on sharp edges = Rub through ? Use small side to sid...

Re: Farécla G3 or G6 Rubbing Compund

carl I wuld use ultra fine wet n dry paper with water with a small amount of fairy liquid added it. this will help it slide and not clogg the paper as much. Also, do the final denibing before the finish gets to hard. This will let a lot of the flatting makes decrease while drying . Thus it will not ...

Re: Poor Condition

BSm, It's done the 30 miles while away for repairs. I have not used it at all, only started it up. I would assume the mileage has come from the 20 dyno runs. I had the same chap who picked up my partners hornet, straps it down really well with a bar across the vehicle body so its kept upright. This ...

Honestly the engine is F****d, you can tell when it's started. I was asked not to fire it back up again. I should have done a video of it so people could hear what I was talking about.

Re: Looking at selling my Bike

Bugger me , I just paid 1600 to get my 2001 engine fixed. I could have had a whole new bike with less mileage on for that and some change . Just put my body work on and I got me bike back on the road .
