Hi all

Need to replace the chain and sprockets on the vtr

What are the standard sprocket sizes and what do you recommend for value for money

Yep really pleased I got it sussed, was begining to think I had gone loopy

Took it out today for a short blast to make sure all was ok

Well

Got it started :D

Turned out to be the pulse unit wire between the connector and the icm had corroded

I was about ready to put a sledge hammer through it

Right Checked the wiring last night, everything is ok except the two wires running from the inpulse generator plug connection to the ICM plug connection These 2 wires are a yellow and a yellow/white, now on the yellow /white wires there is proper circuit as normal but the yellow wire the reading sho...

Well I still aint got it going, still no spark

Checked all me connections
Borrowed and swapped over the coils, ICM, converter unit
Checked the kill switch, all fuses, ignition switch, sidestand switch, nuetral switch

Its really p***ing me off

Iirc I've not heard of the Ignition Pulse Generator causing any problems on a Firestorm before :!: Going by your results I'd say you're going to have to change that to find out for sure. Well, I'm getting somewhere I think :? Now, I checked the supply into the ICM and converter unit which is as should be HOWEVER there is very little volts getting to the coils 2-3volts in fact but my workshop manual says there should be 100v peak voltage, also 0.7v peak voltage out of the converter ...

Right here goes So far the bike will start up occasionally and when it does it runs perfectly Eventually got it started yesterday, took it out, ran fine, nothing wrong with it at all, did about 10 miles, stopped and the bike started fine again, took it round my mates (who has had a storm), he took i...
