Re: Timing- / cam-alignment, new CCT's, valves...

You reground the valve seats, didn't you?
If so, they'll take a few miles to settle in their seats.
Check again in a couple of hundred miles.
And yes, you need to reshim, the tolerance is 13 to 19.

Re: aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah fuk

Using deep groove ball bearings gives you more alternatives, you can find bearings with the outer diameter to fit the wheel but use a larger diameter spindle.
I had to do this when fitting a 954 fork set and an SP1 six spoke wheel to get everything to fit.

Re: Un- familiar noise...NOT CCTS....

Check the rear sprocket bolts aren't undoing and fouling the swingarm.
Also the chain can clip the link pipe if too slack.

Re: MCCTs

There's plenty on here, including me, that thought we'd get away with it. Didn't.... I fitted new standard Honda ones, one failed 18 months later. Two new valves fixed it. Up to you whether you do or don't, but if you ask for advice it's usually given based on experience. The point is, as you can se...

Re: Op Storm Wales 2018 Sep 14th to 16th

More wet than dry Saturday, drizzle this morning but as soon as we crossed the border into England the sun shone and roads dried.

Great roads, and the BBQ was good, we have a new apprentice chef!

Thanks to all who participated 🤗

I thought the whole point of Facebook was that you never got to meet the people hiding on there.
That way you can pretend to be anyone you would have liked to have been.

Dymag will do crack testing
I would say it's more to do with life expectancy than checking the wheel for cracks, although obviously you don't want any crack :)
Chris.
I think you're right, Chris; having a wheel break up under you is likely to shorten your life expectancy.....

Just booked tickets for the weekend of this year's (2018) BSB final at Brands on 13 and 14 October, we'll be camping overnight to see all three races. It's going Haslam's way ATM, but then, we said that last year; let's see if he blows it again or finally gets a championship. Wonder if Shakey Byrne ...

Dymag will do crack testing
It's not the crack you want to test, it's the wheel, to make sure it hasn't got any.

Powder coating will hold it all together AND hide the cracks, you could try that.

Wonder why Dymag chose that particular first syllable for their wheels?
