Thanks for the replies guys,
I'll be putting em back together tomorrow now that all the bits are here, had to order some jets and a new gasket!
I'll be setting the tps down to 500 as well so hopefully things will be much better
Cheers

Pardon me for asking but is this along the same lines as getting the forks "Rogered" if that's the term!
Thanks

Re: Stripping my carbs, any tips
Hi guys,
Do I need to remove the air shut off when Im getting the carbs cleaned? Im hoping to leave the carbs link together instead of splitting them, just not sure of what I have to remove before cleaning.
Thanks

Re: Stripping my carbs, any tips
Thanks chap, I've got a balancer, it's the extra costs of getting the bike down to Pop, otherwise I'd be down there, the price was for fitting the manual cam chain tensioners not the whole bike.
Thanks
Thanks

Stripping my carbs, any tips
Hi all, I was going to get my mccts fitted by Popcat, however due to finances, (even though Popcat offered me a very good deal, for which I am grateful) however I mean my own finances and the ability to get the bike down to Bideford, 200 mile round trip, etc, leads me to basically take it in my own ...

Re: Manual Cam Chain Tensioner Installation Guide (MCCT's)
Right guys, I have removed the front fairing, I'm going to remove the carbs as I may try and find someone to clean them in a ultrasonic bath. Also I was hoping to remove the radiators to clean them up and paint the frames, give the whole bike a going over, fresh coolant etc, is there any issues with...

Re: Manual Cam Chain Tensioner Installation Guide (MCCT's)
Some peple do , some don't it all depends if you want to get to the front head cam covers to directly measure the front tension/ or just do the finger tight back ¼ turn. Read and reread the installation guide till you're familiar with the procedure. Don't rush, have all the tools and parts required ...

Thanks, I'm much happier now.
1 thing though, can I get tho the front over etc without removing the carbs? just by removing the fairing and cover etc?
Cheers

Re: Manual Cam Chain Tensioner Installation Guide (MCCT's)
Hi Guys,
I'm wondering what the end of the cam chain tensioner runs against, as the tensioners I have are just bare metal on the end, does it press against something else before touching the chain? I presume it would, just wanted to be sure.
Cheers
Mark

Vfr 800 clip ons question!
Hi all, I have chance of a pair of Vfr 800 clip ons from a 98 model, I know about trimming the lobe off the fairing, my questions are:
Do I need to do any work on The brake/clutch lines etc?
Also are the 800 bars the same, better or worse than the 750 ones at ride height etc?
Thanks
