A couple I read about A elderly driver in Cumbria got a ticket after speeding past a mobile camera van on the A66 just east of Keswick. (A regular one that that -nearly got me in the car once). The next time he drove past, he gave the operator V signs with both hands. Of course he got prosecuted for...

I always believed the rear reflector should be at least 25mm in diameter but have now found this not to be the case. It must be red You can't use reflective tape must face the rear At least 50% must be visible from the rear You can read the requirements yourself HERE A very useful web site this alth...

A1(M) in Hertfordshire

A lot of you guys seem to be up north so if ever heading south to the smoke be aware. No cameras on the motorway stretch, A1(M) but when on the motorway be on the look out for unmarked plod cars, Black Skoda Octavia VRS's. The old style in both saloon and estate. They are good for 145mph. I used to ...

A1 in Bedfordshire

If you travel on the A1 through Bedfordshire you will pass the town of Sandy and a veritable camera fest. North bound there is a Truvelo in a 60 (after the Biggleswade North/Old Warden Roundabout). Then there is a Gatso in the 50 just before the Sandy roundabout. Southbound there is a Truvelo in the...

Markings on both carriageways is because most newer Gatso installations can be turned round to point either way. Even if they are mounted on the other side of the road they can still cover the far carriageway. Indeed cameras on dual carriageways can cover all three lanes. And just because a Gatso fl...

Blimey guys you are making me feel old, bit of an odd list as I had a fifteen year break but here goes: 1958 Lambretta Li 150 (£5 from a friend who couldn't get it to run much, neither could I so it got scrapped circa 1975. Wasn't old enough to ride it on the road anyway) 1973 Honda CB 250 G5 (deat...

Thanks for the advice so far guys. Steve, as for the Falco, seem a bit more pricy than a VTR, not too keen on the styling (but have always loved the look of the Firestorm) and all the Aprilia owners I seem to meet have had reliability problems. Oh yeah and they're apparently very expensive to servic...

What do I do?

Due to recently coming to the end of my contract, I'm currently unemployed and with nothing in the pipeline I decided to get rid of my R1200GS as it was on a personal lease, luckily the price I was offered by the local beemer dealer covered the settlement. But enough of my woes and on to my real dil...
