Thanks for the tips, i think i will get the bike fully serviced. best to be safe not sorry.
do you think i need to explain to the garage that the bike has been sitting around or does a service cover everything no matter how many miles?

i remember my datatool alarm when i first got on my bike, kept on cutting out on hard acceleration. turned out i had it on the wrong setting and the vibration caused the immobiliser to cut in.

pressed some buttons here and there, now it works..

After spending £80 on a top of the range kryptonite lock i feel a little gutted.

luckly its only 1 of 8 that help keep my storm safe and the only 1 with that kind of lock.

What is the oil like - any bits of metal in it? A failed bearing would poss leave traces there. the oil is clean and they took belly pan off and found no trace of metal. thank you for all your advice, i will get them to replace the cct and hope it cures the problem.

also, it probably doesnt matter but my oil is green. where before it was a golden colour..

i will update you as soon as i get the work done.

Optimates, brilliant....
When i had my old yamaha, i ended up buying two new batterys in the space of 4 months (winter months).

Since ive been using the optimate, no new batterys. And now the bikes always ready for sunshine(if and when it turns up)..

got my firestorm just after chrismas (better than a pair of socks!!) after riding my yamaha fzr 600 for a year and a half....
