Rebuild Relief

Just a bit of a note of thanks to the forum as a whole. I have pretty much finished my "semi rebuild" and on sunday i started it up (no silencers - happy neighbours ...NOT !!) But i was so releived that it started and the pistons didnt eat the valves etc. Thanks to all the workshop posts, ...

I have just renovated mine (for the second time) with halfrauds hi temp aluminium spray. Looks nice......ok its not stainless but it gives a good finish that dosent look like a monkey has been at them with a tin of hammerite 8O Minimal prep required and its only about £8 a can. I am up for it assuming i can get my lump back in the frame with no snags etc by then. I am in west wales so it will be a lonely ride over for me , but it would be great to meat up with you all 8) Last time i was at the Ponderosa was on the "Mac4x4" in 2006 there was heaps of snow. Big Steve

Mine is cuz i am 6ft 2 and weigh 17stone, and every where i have worked and lived there has been another steve smaller than me (lucky sods).
So when being spoken of i have always been "Big Steve" ....Sorry ladies no hidden meanings 8O ....ask the wife :(

fishface, after checking the service manual it says 2.9li rads & engine and 0.71li for the "reserve tank" which i guess is the expansion tank ?

Hi all, Have had the engine out to do some bits n bobs, i was wondering when i put it all back in. Are there any common snags when re filling the cooling system? I noticed last night there is a bolt on the front pot that looks like a bleeder ? (have yet to look it up in the manual) Any of you rebuil...

Thanks chris, Got it nailed now, strapped the bugger to the bench put it in gear and then re inserted the sprocket bolt on the output shaft. Put a 14mm socket on the bolt with a bar not a ratchet which sat on the bench. Then used an impact gun on the star nut in the clutch and (que formula one tyre ...
