Breeny

Live near to Kings Heath and pass Jnc 3 every day.

Give me a shout if you plan any rides and i'll do the same.

Usually do Bassetts pole on Tues and Waterman on Weds plus out and about at w/e if not drunk.

If not keep your eyes peeled for a d/blue storm

Cheers

Gents

19ltr Tank will bolt straight on however you'll be needing the later models fuel tap, mounting bracket, and associated fuel hosing as its a different design on newer models.

You'll also need to file out the opening onthe front of the seat where it slides over the shock and thats about it.

Speedo will be affected if you change front or back'cause as Pete says its driven off the gearbox. As far as which one to change the stories like this. Changing the front is a lot easier and less time consuming as you don't have to drop the rear wheel etc out. People say change the rear instead of t...

Blade forks are not too bad to install but you'll need the clipons as ben said and also to relocate the horn. You'll probably end up getting them revalved anyway as while they're better than standard vtr ones there still not the greatest. Be careful if you fit taper roller head bearings too! See Sha...

Blackstorm Only just read this post and after having a look at the track organisers website theres only places in the advanced group left. Do you know what sort of level this group is likely to be as i've only been in the upper end of the intermediate groups at Cadwell and Donnington before and neve...

Different manufacturers use different types of carbon. I had a set of microns on my old TL and they were fine for 20000mi. I had a full akrapovic on the storm with carbon cans on and did a lot of track days and after about 10000mi you could start to crumble the carbon between your fingers. Its suppo...

'Storms with 19ltr tanks had updated clocks and forks on them which is the best way to tell. If your speedo face on the clocks is a full 360degrees its a 16ltr tank, If it has a huge electronic display slapped at the lower right corner of it its a 19ltr tank. Some 2001/2002 reg storms are in fact th...

Granty I agree that all of it is shite. It depends on your riding style and how you look after you bike as to how long it will last. Thrash it everywhere and it'll get f**ked more quickly. Give it a bit of tlc now and again and it'll go on for ever. Done 7k on mine in a year had it serviced when req...

Burton eh? All the dodgy buggers come from up that way.

I go for blasts up your way regularly (A515/518/Matlock) with some mates in Derby so we'll have to catch up some time.

I measure centre of wheel spindle to end of swinarm with the calipers. You can always do it your way aswell but its a little more fiddly.

You could always fit a VFR sss to your firestorm like Daz Sear if you want the eccentric adjusters back!!!

I use the circlips on the end of the adjusters to measure it. Wind both adjusters all the way in, turn the circlips around till the two holes are at the top then making sure you don't knock or move them count the number of turns out on each side till the required adjustment is obtained. I've checked...

Stu Try: http://www.esling.btinternet.co.uk/maxton I've got a shim adjusted rear shock fitted to mine and did have maxtonised forks before i went the 'blade route. The shocks are excellent, superb build quality and can be fully adjustable depending which one you buy. Reasonably priced too considerin...
