What RPM??

Hey guys and gals,

When you're cruising on your firestorm what is a good rpm to be sitting on? I have an 03 firestorm and i'm finding it misfires at around 2500rpm but not around 3000rpm. But is 3000rpm too high to cruise on?? Never owned motorbike before so i'm still feeling the water.
