Re: LED Versus H4 headlamp bulb.

I'd like to fit an LED to both my Firestorm and RD; is there an issue with fitting a fanless LED bulb? Reason I ask is that on the RD forum a fanless one was discussed with power consumption of 10W and the bulb in this thread has a fan and consequently a power requirement of 28W. Both cost pretty mu...

Re: +casing paint

Not sure if it is the same shade of gold but have a look at this link that talks about gold on honda casing. https://www.thumpertalk.com/forums/topic/1205842-xr400-engine-paint-colour/ The thread refers to RS paints as advised by Alan and also the Halfords gold paint that the fella used to paint his...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

A couple of things...took the VTR out for a couple of hours to keep it ticking over, mostly country roads, and washed all the flies off it when I got home :plainsmile Have to say that I am very chuffed with it at the moment

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

Overfilled the front brake reservoir and then had to empty some brake fluid out as it was leaking when out for a ride. Must pay more attention as the front brake comes in handy :D

Re: The RD400 drag bike

Forgot to add that the RD runs perfectly now, I got it supplied & fitted by Dave Whatham in his Wetherby workshop and he is a great source of knowledge for RDs, I know there are many others but he is my go to person

Re: The RD400 drag bike

Al - my ignition was dodgy on my RD350LC and I got it replaced with a Vape kit. Not sure if that kind of kit is what you are looking for but it's my tuppence worth :plainsmile

Re: Oil filters

Getting older makes me worry more…I'm now way down in a rabbit hole cross referencing SS 10W40 oil technical data sheets from different manufactures and trying to learn what it all means when I should be sorting out my sticking high/low beam switch for the MOT. The simpler thing to do is just get Mo...

Finally fitted all the parts on the VTR following RH low side, bike is looking great and I'll get booked in for an MOT asap so that I can get back out on it :)
