Re: Suitable Motorcycle Lifts

Hi - There are lots of options to get the wheels off. Have a look at abbastands.co.uk to get some ideas, a very popular product. Paddock stands front and rear also do the job, useful to get ones with wheels so that they slide into position and the bike doesn't move. Scissor lifts are great and will ...

A Well Trodden Path

Just wanted to say a big thank you to the many contributors of this forum both past and present for the advice they have freely given because of their knowledge, experience and love of the Firestorm. As someone who has no mechanical background I have found the forum invaluable and pretty much...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

Waiting for new shock to arrive and had already taken off the rear linkage and fitted new bearings n seals and loosely refitted. Took the linkage off again to double check that I had put enough grease on the new bearings, over administration! To pretend it was all good work I got the autosol out and...

Re: Question about rear brake hoses

My understanding of the front brake set up is that there is a joining hose, from the master cylinder to a kind of splitter box and then there are 2 further hoses from that splitter box to each caliper. So 3 hoses in total as standard for the front. This is similar to the goodridge hose set up I have...

Re: Exhaust Recommendation for Firestorm

Well I (eventually) followed Macv2's advice and sourced a Moriwaki Ti full system from Japan  Can someone help with the clamp size from the existing rear link pipe to the Moriwaki collector? I'll get a Mikalor W5 marine grade SS clamp but was unsure of the size :confused The Moriwaki connec...

Question about rear brake hoses

Hi - I'm looking to replace my 2003 firestorm rear brake hoses with braided SS and looking at the bike / parts schematic there are 2 hoses. One from the rear master cylinder to the cylinder sub assembly and the second hose from that assembly to the rear caliper. I checked both HEL and Venhill websit...

Re: What are you listening to.....right now?

Still makes me laugh with the banter between Julian Cope and Pete Wylie where Cope's song 'Liver Big as Hartlepool' was a riposte to Wylie's anthemic 'Heart as big as Liverpool'...I don't have favourites and like them both :D

Re: Bump start

Main thing is you are okay  I have a mixed history of battery luck on the storm, when I bought the bike the battery was near the end of its life so I replaced it with a standard OEM one. I kept it connected to a bike charger all the time when I was not using the bike in winter and I think t...
