Thanks.
Yeah I could pop down the road and get one of those.
Must be honest, seeing as it's got to be undone with it in the straight position, I'm worried I may snap the thing undoing the plug!
Is it stronger than it looks?
I'm not sure how I'd torque it back up. Guesswork?

Re: Changing Spark Plugs
thanks for advice. I just been out to take a look. Bloody deep ain't they? I've seen dinosaur remains that are nearer the surface ! Looked through my socket selection and almost got one the right size. Without actually being able to see the plug (working blind) it's hard to know if I'm on it or not....

Re: Changing Spark Plugs
thanks so it's an 18mm across flats box spanner with extenders between the front forks for the front one, and fuel tank off to get to the rear one.
And these plugs?

Changing Spark Plugs
Ok, now I know this should be a simple job, but simple things are not always as simple as they should be. I'm considering changing the spark plugs on my Firestorm. Never having done this before, is there a guide about how to do it/how to get to them, and what you need tool wise, or take of the bike ...

Re: Copper grease when fitting new rear pads - Where?
I only had the wheel off a couple of weeks ago (new valve and rebalance) and put the wheel back on, and 100% I'm "In the groove!" re the swing arm slot. Everything torqued back up. This odd occasional noise started when I fitted a new disc and pads. To be honest, I've probably not really e...

Re: Copper grease when fitting new rear pads - Where?
Thanks. I do seem to have a little noise coming from the rear brake unit, which seems to be notable only a very low speeds (about 10mph when coming to a stop) Like a knocking sound. It's hard to identify it. I've just been in the garage and been rocking the bike to and fro a few inches, and I can he...

Copper grease when fitting new rear pads - Where?
If I am to fit new brake pads, in which locations should I apply the copper grease? I have the pads (which have lose fitting/floating thin metal shims behind them) The pads appear to only rest on a ledge on the caliper towards the front of the bike and run on a pin/bolt towards the back of the calip...

Thanks for the reply.
Yes, I have those shoot bolts already installed. I fitted them last week, and I just ordered a new normal style garage door handle/lock to go along with them

Garage Door Handle/lock Advice - Does Anyone Have This New F
I need to order a new garage door lock, one of the typical up and over "Henderson" type doors. Has a handle/lock like this: http://www.onlinegaragedoorspares.com/__myAssets/garage_door_spares_and_accessories%5Chenderson%5Chandles_and_locks%5Ches-2020.jpg So was just going to order a replac...

I thought I could cut a spyhole in the door and hang a naked photo of Margaret Thatcher in front of the lens, At least then when I see some vomit down the door I'll know someone's been snooping.storminateacup wrote:He you tried the shotgun in a vice and bit of string approach

Re: Garage Door - Additional Bolts/locks - Enfield Or Asec B
Thanks to you all for replies so far. Think I will go with these: http://www.discountlocks.co.uk/Asec-High-Security-Garage-Door-Bolt-p/asec%20garage%20door%20bolt.htm I have the normal metal up and over door. I have made my own thing at the top inside which the sprung hook pings up into, but I've su...

Garage Door - Additional Bolts/locks - Enfield Or Asec Brand
I've decided I'm going to get a set of these as I like the way they work and the fact they don't SHOUT "There's something expensive in this garage" http://www.saundersonsecurity.co.uk/acatalog/Enfield_Garage_Door_Lock_Pair_KA_D613_KA_P.html I also see the same things appear to be made by a...

Re: Rear Footrest Hanger - Torque of Socket Head Screws?
Ah well, yes, you are right in a way, the size of the hex and the length of the Allen key, in some ways determins how tight you can go. The only problem is I have a set of Allen keys with sockets attached, so I can fix then to my torque wrench and probably snap many sizes given enough ignorance :big...

Re: Looking after brand new battery fitted to bike - Optimat
Thanks for replies so far, I was expecting a few more replies, perhaps not many people either have an optimate charger or don't leave their bikes unridden hardly ever. Thanks for letting me know about the danger of leaving charger attached but not plugged into mains. I must admit, I'm not 100% keen ...

Looking after brand new battery fitted to bike - Optimate 3
After pretty much not using my Firestorm for a year (hangs head in shame - but I did keep polishing it!) I went into garage to get things up and going again. I found the battery had almost totally died, It was taking a bit of a charge, but was showing it's age as would not hold a charge very long at...
