OK I found it, quite by chance.
The bungee was supporting something I'd unbolted but didn't disconnect. No one got a prize - Fri Jun 05, 2020 8:27 am

Re: Today's photo quiz - where is this part from?
Thanks to everyone that looked, and for the suggestions especially the funny ones
I still have no idea where it's from but at least I know it's not some critical part of the bike I forgot to put back

I am just in the final throws of rebuilding my FW, cleaning brake fluid away from around the clutch release cylinder area, and this drops to the floor. I have NO idea where it came from. It is plastic, slightly tapered, 12mm long and hollow with a hole at one end, a dome shape at the other. It looks...

Re: Getting bike running after 2 years?
That is how it should be. Petrol should only flow once a vacuum is applied to the outlet spigot shown by the red allow in Mac's photo. Re: Newbie from Exeter
We knew what we was doing in 71! Ah, you might have but I certainly didn't ;-) Was it really 18.5hp? I reckon most of mine had gone missing when I started out, but things definitely improved over time. Junking that horrible classic rear wheel cowling saved a lot of weight for a start. And getting i...

Yes, much improved. I'll be cheering especially for Tom Francis (I'm a Chiefs fan), and good luck for today and the rest of the tournament.

Re: Me
I passed my test on my brother's CD175, it was the first bike I ever rode on the road, after learning on a 2-speed Puch (I think?) 50cc moped across the fields. Those were the days. CD175 was a terrific bike, had a lovely combination of induction and exhaust noise. Was a little naughty on it in the ...

Re: Newbie from Exeter
Thanks! I started in Hampshire and did live as far north as Manchester once. Didn't like it much. Although I swear it rains more in West Devon than it does in Manchester...
