I have these fitted https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F253937544083 and have done for the last 50,000 miles. They are a nice solid construction and have very well-designed integrated seals. +1 Fitted 1000 km ago, little more expensive than the other a...

Re: Dashboard update
For early models, ( like my 97 model) the best fuel gauge is to reset the odometer to 0 when you fill the tank.
After this, in my case I have 160 km until the light turn on. Depending on your driving, etc this number may vary, but not too much.

At starting I like to check that the regulator is working, and oil pressure is ok, and tyre pressure is within limits.. I installed gauges in t...

Re: Reculator/Rectifier
There are not simple rectifiers. The main problem here is to keep the DC voltage within limits. ( about 14V). The AC generator increases the voltage with the rpm. They are low KV ( revs per volt) generators , to assure that at idle they are producing enough voltage to keep the output DC voltage to 1...
