Re: VTR 1000 vs. F4I 600 ?

I would just like to say the VTR1000 feels Lighter and more nimble than my previous ride(CBR600F ULTIMA LIGHT)
The brakes are fantastic in use and the body/bikini faring works for me!:)

Re: NEW VTR 1000 FIRESTORM owner and Honored Member

I will be placing a 6mm aluminium spacer between the suspension tomorrow and test it out on a few roads I know(newark/matlock and kellam bridge) The tyre pressures are in my opinion quite high 36 psi and 42 psi respectively but the Michelin road pilot 3 tyres are sure footed in the dry and on a wash...

Re: Trail Braking

The front brake is the most aggressive and 75% effective if used correctly. The rear brake is obviously 25% effective and used to control the bike during slow or tight maneuvers as it does not effect steering or make the front dip:) I apply my front brakes to stop and then gradually release and appl...

Re: Trail Braking

I used to own a bike school in the 90`s and obviously never taught this trail braking but unconsciously i use it to great effect. The technique I use is as follows: I study the bend and first select a gear (blip to match engine revs) where the bike will be responsive and happy to rev! I then apply t...

Re: Carb rebuild woes... Won't rev past 3k

I owned a vfr 400 fd and I learnt to remove a VAC pipe off of one of the cylinders as a theft deterrent, it meant the bike would run for a few minutes then cut out as it needed this pipe to pump/open the fuel loop:/ Does the VTR have a similar arrangement vac fed fuel? as we all know it is gravity f...

Re: Trail Braking

I have always used the rear brake to steady my bike/scrub off speed, in a corner but lately I have been using an old technique called trail braking and I used this on my old VFR 400 RR when I was very used to the bike. I have recently been using trail braking(front end medium braking pressure up to ...

Re: Your top speed

Hold on folkes I bought this bike for the straight line drag excitement and I must inform you it do`s not disappoint, apart from the clutch seems grabby then/not at 2,500 rpm mmm, fast revvy pull offs are a no no but progressive revs from low down are fantastic and i am glad I sold my CBR 600 as thi...
