Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

Options are: 19L 01–05 later model tank (you'll need to find one and a few bits and mod the fuel gauge) VFR tank (ugly but practical - needs a hammer to get it to fit) Carry a 5L petrol can in a tankbag when ranging far (cheap and practical) Refueling while on the move > https://www.bmwblog.com/201...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

I did that when I rode to south of France last year on the 2. Brimmed it, then left it in the sun outside the services. Came out to find quite a puddle underneath it because the sun had caused the cold fuel to expand and run out of the overflow tube... google  high on the first page of results...

has anyone invested in an aluminium special - the tank shop, or similar - or does the extra weight cause other problems?

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

why is the tank so small?

is there scope for an enterprising person to enlarge it?

any skilled fabricators, sheet metal people and welders on here?

has anyone invested in an aluminium special - the tank shop, or similar - or does the extra weight cause other problems?

Re: New toy!

That's a good idea. So I tried one of those webuyanybike places. They offered me £300-500. Er, that's ok thanks but I'll pass. Wow that is an insult. These kind of buisnesses I think mostly take advantage of those that are truly desperate a bit like cash converters. Very sad and morally wrong IMO. ...

Re: hello from maryport

kirkstone is an interesting ride. so are the other passes. a colleague rides them each year. best done early in the day - to avoid the traffic and mountain bikes. i like honister in the spring and autumn. Hardknott Pass and then Wrynose Pass can be challenging when it gets busy. some bends are tight...

That really is a multi coloured bike. Looks like it was sponsored by United Colours of Beniton. I take it you built it as a track bike? It really was built from the the bits i had left over from previous projects.... i would like to get it painted in West colours stunning looks as a multi coloured ...

I do notice less efficient switch gear when it comes to cold gloved hand use on the VTR compared to the TRX. Indicator and kill switch especially. But...
