Welcome Dave.
Shame you ended up with a silver one. Everyone knows the red ones are best!

I should have said, suspect the jets after you've done what Fabio suggested. Start with the basics, they're pretty reliable machines & it's often only a simple problem.

Welcome along Shoot! Bit warm over there at the moment, I hear. It's a great forum mate, and some superb know how. Download the workshop manual. I'm not savvy enough to post the link, so perhaps someone could help out? Re: Your carbs. I'd go for the idle circuit. I stripped & cleaned mine & ...

Re: Fork seals
Hi. I did mine recently and VTRdark's write-up & pics helped no end, but I disposed of my old oil/water mix responsibly. lol. Had loads of trouble getting the inner fork (chrome bit) out of the lower, alloy bit because the top bushes were ever so tight. It's definitely worth replacing the bushes...

Re: new tyres :)
Just fitted Michelin Pilot Road 4's to replace my squared off Battlaxs, total transformation in the way it now rolls into bends and unbelievable grip when giving it a fist full coming out. Not tried in wet weather yet, but I reckon I'll trust them. I do 400 miles per week commuting on M25 & A127...

Re: Standard Fork Upgrade Service Guide
I'd like to extend my thanks for the guide. Thanks very much Carl! I finally took the plunge and overhauled mine. The 'oil' that came out was around 50/50 oil & water. Looked like vanilla milkshake & smelt worse than Flipper's burp! The only trouble I had was removing the fork tubes/stanchio...

Re: Dartford crossing
I would imagine it's an urban myth, but isn't the crossing a private road so therefore not under the jurisdiction of the authorities?

Should've got your name right mags@port! Sorry.
Thanks for the offer of a peg mate. Probably not worth the hassle of posting for the sake of a few quid for a pair of new ones.

Cheers Wicky. Yeah, I saw that one earlier in the week but they were away until Thursday. It looks a good price and condition. Thanks for looking Mac. It's a shame MacSpares.com is out of stock at this time! Magsport. Thanks for the Wemoto pointer. Had a look, only 14 quid ea. complete with rubbers ...

Re: Footpeg
Hi Mac.
I repaired the footpeg with some careful drilling & tapping but it's only temporary. I daren't put all my weight on it with the tiny screws I used.
I'd appreciate it if you could find a peg in your stores & I'll transfer or post money to you?
Cheers

Cheers Mags.
I know someone who does alloy welding. Will get it to them when I don't need the bike.

Re: Footpeg
That's a pain. Wish I'd broken the other one instead now. Still, it's realigned the exhaust to near symmetry & the broken peg has the foot rubber retaining plate intact, (unlike the other side, which was orange dust!) I overcame that by gluing 5mm nuts to repair washers. It wasn't very comfortab...

Blimey Carl, you're a night owl and Mac, you appear to be a lark! Thanks for answering my plea. Yeah, sorry about description Mac. I was so incandescent with rage that I was lost for simple terminology! Busted the footpeg itself & cracked the hanger where the pen is pointing. I don't think the h...

Has anyone got a spare RH footpeg for sale, and the bit it bolts to as well?
Managed to drop the b8stard while tucking it in under its blankey this eve. I can't tell you how cross I am.
Smiley very cross face.

Re: GrainStorm V
Cheers Chris & Al. Yes, I saw the split linkage arm. Nasty! The spring's definitely too hard, despite the pies & pints. That's why I was going to reduce the pre-load if possible. It'd be a stop gap as I've spent fortunes recently & can't stretch to a new spring just now. Regards what I'l...
