Re: GrainStorm V

That sounds like a good tip Wicky - one at a time. My plan would be to take fairing & tank off & strap round the spars to get the height. Horizontal fork legs? Bike's done 65k miles & rear suspension feels very stiff. Are the linkage bearings almost always shagged? If I suspend the whole...

Re: GrainStorm V

Thanks again AP & Carl.

AP, I haven't got a helicopter, or sky hooks, or a Grand Canyon!

A risky opener!

The man turns to the consultant and, with a cheeky wink says "So, how soon after the procedure can I have sex with my wife?'
The consultants says "That's the first time I've been asked that question, in all the years I've worked for Dignitas"

Re: GrainStorm V

Cheers Carl & AP. And more thanks for the rebuild guide & environmental awareness flaunting, lol. 'Draingate' drew a few comments! Pyramid seals (full kit with bushes) & 7.5 wt oil on their way as we speak. In the meantime I've jammed some tissue underneath the dust seal to stop it runni...

Re: GrainStorm V

Cheers for the guidance Tony. Yes, the dents are in the swept area mate. I reckon dressing them & new seals may cure it. I think I may have contributed to their failure by attempts to clean them with a plastic seal mate device. The offside was leaking and all but stopped after a clean. The nears...

Re: GrainStorm V

Wow, that was fast. I think you answered within 4 rings!

Will have a read through now cheers.

One leg has, what appear to be, hammer marks! Not from me. Is there any cure other than a replacement?

Re: GrainStorm V

Hi all! Cheers for your great hosting Mac. Felt really welcome as a newbie. It was great to see the camaraderie & support from everyone, and to see some lovely Storms, as well as some that may not be regarded as beautiful in the classic sense. FF? Ha! They gave me inspiration and aspiration. I h...

Re: Run to GrainStorm V

Hi Tilt et al.
Many apologies but I'm going to struggle to make the meet on the A130 first thing, so will have to make my own way there later.

Re: Run to GrainStorm V

Hi all.

I'll be up for meeting en route if there's room for a small one? - I'll be coming from Southend - A127, onto A130.
Tilt390. I Could meet you at the lay-by near Wickford turn? You're less likely to be done for kerb crawling if there's two of us & I definitely don't look like a brass!

Re: New here, long term owner.

Ha! Indeed a small world.

Glad it was reasonably clean that day. Shame we didn't meet. Both a little shy?

I like your use of the phrase 'Interestingly crafted', Wicky. Very diplomatic.

Re: GrainStorm V

Hi MacV2. I'd love to come to the GrainStorm & meet up with a few Stormers! Might do my CCT's if I haven't done them before then. Managed to get the inspection plugs undone today. Had to use an impact screwdriver on the larger one. They do seem to be made of cheese or chocolate though! Would you...

Re: New here, long term owner.

I believe I have OEM tensioners. Have ordered a couple of billet ones from ebay. £56 all up & they look well made. Will probably add a positive locking device to them to be sure. Thanks for the compliment on the pipes, VTRDark. They clear everything apart from slight contact with the tyre when t...

Re: New here, long term owner.

Cheers for all the welcome messages. Yeah, I've not seen similar exhaust routing on a storm. Looks cleaner with rear peg hangers off but the cans were leaking & burnt a hole through the mudguard! Poor old thing stood out in all weathers for around 2 years. (I can recommend Halfords' solar batter...

Re: How to post pictures with IMGUR.

Cheers Mac.
Managed to upload picture, although didn't expect URL address to appear instead of picture. That's why I added no text - wasn't sure it would work. Picture's a few years old now though.
I've got the standard (debaffled) cans on it now.
