Re: Hi from Reading

You were lucky. That does sound like the bike I rode 5 yrs ago. Back then the battery stank after the short ride and I warned the seller. That and the crazy alarm. Doesn't sound like it did any running in 5 yrs 😲

Re: Probably going to be VTR owner?

Well, I left classics behind near 5 yrs ago and don't regret it. The runs and meets were fun but it became the same old thing🙄. Im 71 in march and hoping for another year's riding. The leccy start helps 👍.

Re: Hi from Reading

On the bearing, just me and the noise/grumble some make at idle, clutch in. Most owners don't care and put up with it, then some bikes dont seem to do it either. Its the third go with a different bearing source and date code.

Re: Jeff Beck RIP

Cant believe it and that he was nearly 80. Saw him In May last year at the Albert Hall when his 'mate' took over the show! It's still a great memory :D. RIP Mr Beck

I forgot to answer your question. Yes, aim for 6mm without leaning on it, just a medium effort total pull up/down.

Re: Hi from Reading

I've got a pair made by a former board member, now with 14k on them. I couldnt detect any difference in sound quality even at 'quite loose' :( Nor did I notice any difference auto (with savers) to manual and I'm usually tuned in to noises, hence my third go at the mainshaft bearing over Christmas, d...

Re: Hi from Reading

I got the plugs from eBay. Lots for sale there, but previous seller is out of stock. This seller does them https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/114387667580 Thanks. BTW that wasn't from Fleet/Crookham was it? Oct 2017 I looked at a 9000 mile example in blue with a funky alarm system that had to be switched e...
