Re: What's annoyed you today??

Coming home from work driving up the A59 3 lane dual carriageway behind a nobber in a baseball cap in his Vauxhall Zafira who was sticking like glue to the central reservation. Naturally as soon as the opportunity presented its self I shot up his inside and legged it past him. :redface Why do people...

Re: Halfords battery charger fire

Scary prospect!!

I have an Optimate 3 which I've had for about 8 years. I've not used it a lot but it's never given me any trouble but I'll be checking the cables before I use it again!!!

Re: Swing-Arm Bobbins

Obviously a matter of personal choice. Not to mention the availability of someone with ali welding equipment (& the skill to do a decent job!!), then you have the difficulty of welding while the arm is on the bike, so as often as not simply drilling & tapping straight into the arm is a far e...

Re: Anyone for Marmite?

I've seen some strange creations in my time but that is definitely amongst the strangest. Clearly the guy is into scooters but wanted something with a little more power, I started on scooters myself so I can understand the motivation, just not the execution. I think you'd have to go a long way to f...

Re: Swing-Arm Bobbins

Which is why I recommend using a metric fine thread tap and bolt. More threads in that thin section. You could always use a nutsert. But I haven't heard of any failing, so even a standard pitch thread seems to hold ok. Just been looking at this as I'll be fitting bobbins to my arm, I'll be going a ...

Re: Rear shock options

Some will say no ! I have a mate that worked at the local Yamaha dealer who did mine. Cost me $250.00 Oz. From memory he had a bit of trouble and it took a week for parts. He also had to machine part of the body. That was about 4 years ago and it still works fine. Thanks for that, I've go...

Re: Track day project.

I'd rather see cable ties, there's an air of permanence about those awful bolts!! A t least zip ties look like it's only to get it back on the road, and anything is allowed for that!! Agreed ! I do love a good zip tie [emoji966] Oh yes, God's own creation!!!! Just as long as they're...

Re: Track day project.

I tend to be more fastidious on things you can see while riding but if it was a warm day and those bolts were all I had that fitted so I could go riding, in they go. But a nice shiny stainless button head looks better, until the special-order Ti ones arrive. Or black-anodised so they don't stand ou...

Re: Hypertension Anyone?

But it comes straight back as soon as you take the belt off. Perhaps I need to buy the batteries as well  I try not to worry about weight despite knowing I'm miles 'over' but you wanna try tucking a 6' 1" 18 1/2 stone body on a TZ250, I can tell you that small riders are at a big advant...
