Re: Power Increase

Well folks, after taking all the advice I have concluded that getting the power I need from the storm is going to be a lot of work and money if I could find the parts. I am picking up a well developed Fireblade drag bike this weekend. The hopefully I can sell the storm complete and not have to break...

Re: Power Increase

I don't have the engineering skill for the tank/air box mod, but the big band engine sounds interesting. May have to talk to some one about the air box mods though.

Many thanks for everyones advice

Re: Power Increase

I must admit it could be lighter. Think I may see if I can get a better exhaust system, get a lighter flywheel and look for some FCR’s . Maybe a bit of head work. If I lay off the pies over the winter that may help too .
I love the bike, don’t want to sell it.

Re: Power Increase

My bike is a drag bike, it is only for ¼ mile use. I already use a quick action throttle, not been able to get hold of a lightened flywheel. I like the bike, and the fact when I turn up at an event I won’t see half a paddock full of firestorms. I have run 10.9 second ¼ miles on it so far, but that’s...

Power Increase

I’m looking at getting more power from my motor. I feel I have run as fast as possible with the work done so far (air box, carbs, pipe) Looking for 20-30 hp increase. From what I can find on the net tuning parts for the storm are few and far between, and what is available cost the earth. Add to that...

Had to do a mod to the gear linkage to get the shifter to work. Ran 10.972 this weekend :D

Re: Gearbox swap

Well to update this post. I have now changed the complete gearbox, complete with selector forks and drum. I took the engine out in the end. What a pain that was, had to strip most of the bike down to do it. I turned the motor upside down leaving the heads etc on. Due to the chain guides being bolted...

Re: Does anyone have any experience with these fairing kits??

I brought a set of Chinese panels for my NSR250 in movie star colours. The paint was not bad for the money. The plastic was thin compared with OE. The fit was OK, but not great, had to mess around a fair bit to get it to fit and it was not 100%. Also you end up paying a lot more for it by the time y...

Re: Gearbox swap

Thanks guys. I might try turning the bike upside down, but the engine bolts are all free so it might be just as easy to remove it. I intend to change everything in the gearbox as it's had a hard life. Just hope changing it and freshening up the clutch doesn't start the hope skip and jump issue, it l...
