The twostroke world is small.
I happen to have met Jason Hills, the owner & builder of the LC in the 2 lower pics.
On that occasion I've even test ridden that bike which was an arm-ripping experience as it has around the same performance than a VTR, but at almost half the bike weight.

Re: The RD400 drag bike
On the 350 YPVS models I've seen plenty of clutch covers that had paint on the sealing surface.
And a couple of them were bone stock, so I assume Yamaha didn't care, too.
As I always use additional thin layer of Dirko silicone sealing, I never had issues leaving the paint on.

Re: The RD400 drag bike
My setup wouldn't help you as I went for the dark side (aka cheap and dirty). I removed the magnets from the rotor, so the inertia was reduced significantly but let me keep everything else in place (mounting plate & pickup). Just the stator had to go, too, and voila - minus 1.6kg accomplished. T...

Re: Radial clutch MC. Cylinder size
BTW: Found the missing SC57 diameter SC36: 14 mm SC57: 1/2" = 12.7 mm The reduction in lever force is around 20%. If you're switching to the mentioned Brembo radial type the diameter isn't the only parameter to look at. Radial pumps usually have a higher mechanical ratio, i.e. it may happen you...

Re: The RD400 drag bike
Concerning the ignition, I'm not sure if the Vape is the best choice for a drag bike. Performance wise it's absolutely ok, but you could save some weight & cost by getting rid of the complete rotor/stator asy and just fit a small trigger wheel & pick up plus a decent DC CDI (Ignitech, Zeeltr...

Re: Radial clutch MC. Cylinder size
In that case I'd have a cheapskate solution. Get the clutch pump assy from the CBR1000 SC57. It's kind of plug & play on the SC36 but features a smaller diameter of the piston which enlarges the hydraulic ratio and reduces lever force. I've got one on mine and it works just fine. The other point...

Re: Travel abroad documents?
As I'm from Germany, I'd advise to mount your stock cans as police became pretty intense regarding bike noise. In popular regions like the Eifel (Nürburgring) or Bavarian Alps, they confiscate loud exhausts and you're not allowed to continue riding until you mount something compliant. In Austria the...

Re: Hi from Paris
My condolences for living in a 30kph town threatening their people to install noise traps. Wouldn't an e-scooter be more oriented towards the bright future of this town. So if you're looking for something quiet, I'd go with the stock cans. Best performance et pas des problems avec les flics :-) Anot...

Re: Koso aftermarket speedo calibration problems?
If GPS is 30 and speedo shows 24, your correction must be above 1. So it's not 0.8 but 1.25 If circumference was 1850, then the new value needs to be 2312. If that exceeds the valid range you need to modify the number of magnets. I.e. play with the programmed number and actually installed number. Ex...

Re: Koso aftermarket speedo calibration problems?
What's the problem? Use a GPS device or a smartphone app to validate GPS speed. Compare with speedo reading and calculate the coefficient GPS divided by speedo reading. Example : GPS 75 mph, speedo 70 mph, factor = 70/75 = 0.933 Then go to the speedo menu to show the actual wheel circumference value...

Re: Well you asked for another Ducati build
For tanks there's an easier solution : Put some 0.3-0.5 bar in it, send your wife off to the hairdresser and have a nice bath in your tub with that tank. The dull version is to use a huge mortar bucket filled with water. Usually radiator workshops can do this and supply a certificate. That's the met...

This guy has measured his SP1 injectors @ 245 ccm/min

But keep in mind that the SP1 has two injectors per cylinder!

Re: Injectors?
If it's a Megasquirt, then you actually do not need "exact" values. They're fed into the req_fuel value which doesn't necessarily need to be exact. It'll result in different fuel map bin values later which makes exchange/comparison more difficult. If you have very low or very high values i...

The sellers name translates to bike butcher.
And properly butchered it is, that's for sure.
