Re: Intermittant Coolant Leak, Clutch Cylinder Leak

Fixed....for now.
Tightened the hose clamp at the front cylinder. The hose is fairly soft so might need replacing in the near future.
Cheers

Re: Intermittant Coolant Leak, Clutch Cylinder Leak

Found it. Exactly where Tony mentioned. Leaking from the hose end where it connects to the front cylinder. Used my phone led to peak in there this morning when I got to work. Carbs off tonight to try and tighten
Thanks for the help :D

Re: Intermittant Coolant Leak, Clutch Cylinder Leak

Tony has given you the clue. 9 times out of 10 it's the smaller hose at the front that goes to the front cylinder. Common issue on these bikes so rule that out. It may simply need the clip tightening up or replacing. (:-}) ah huh. Thanks Carl, and Tony.. Will give it another go with the tank/abox o...

Re: Intermittant Coolant Leak, Clutch Cylinder Leak

Thanks for all replies Hey, mine had a coolant leak from the reservoir tank. It had the odd drop or two that I just couldn't find the source of after a ride. Then I got stuck in Sydney traffic on a 40 degree day and had the temp hovering around 130 at that time (made me sweat for multiple reasons!!)...

Re: Underseat fuel storage

Good replies all around cheers! Still at the drawing board stage, I should say that I am not intending to plumb the bottles in, Just pour them in the main tank. Thinking I will cut away the required amount of underseat moulding tray and fab an aluminium cradle to hold two bottles and secure with hos...

Intermittant Coolant Leak, Clutch Cylinder Leak

Hi All. I haven't checked in for while. But the VTR is going well. Getting to know it and doing plenty of riding. When I parked at work this morning I had a coolant leak down the left of the engine, about 1/3 cup in total including the coolant blown back on the swing arm and stand. Done a search and...

Underseat fuel storage

Has anyone ever tried to fit some sort of emergency fuel storage under the seat? looks as though there is enough room. I intend to use a couple of 1Litre MSR fuel bottles and fab some sort of secure cradle to take the place of the toolkit and J lock moulding. It will only be 2 litres but its better ...

Re: Popping with choke on - Any cause for concern?

Its not going to run smoothly with the choke on, especially when warm. It's probably just unburnt fuel igniting in the hot muffler (blowing carrots is the technical term  ) Choke is only used for cold starting. If it's running good normally, I would leave it at that.

And you would have to ask a Kiwi about your next question. I have no idea :p OOPS - Really sorry. My bad. Kicka my ass. The brain saw Taz, and I wrote NZ. I used to always remember Tasmania as being the "collar tag" below Australias "Dog shaped" head. But, I fooked up this time....

Re: Fork Seals

I have used an appropriate thickness feeler gauge.....very carefully of course Erm, are we still referring to clearing the crap out of fork seals....or is this part of some bizarre NZ medical procedure? Yep certainly, Just have to be careful not to nick the seal with a sharp edge. And you would hav...

Re: TPS Adjustment: Was 840 - Now 590 Can't get to 500 - No

Like Popkat said, all you have to do is bend the lower metal tab down to create a larger gap that the TPS fits into. Remove TPS to access and bend it very gently with pliers. You will easily get 500 ohms this way. Much easier than machining bolts. Hey I guess I have a new name now....... :lol...
