Re: Gilles Rearsets

Think i've just answered my own question - on their website it suggests the lowest/furthest forward position is 10mm forward and 10mm lower than standard. Does anyone think this would be even noticable or perhaps have tried it please?

Gilles Rearsets

Gents, does anyone know if the lowest and furthest forward position on the Gilles rearsets is close to standard or better still further forward or lower? I'm trying to get a more relaxed riding position but with a factory look. Many thanks.

Re: Comfort kits

Thanks for the info chaps.I went ahead and fitted a comfort kit, had the same issues with clearance on the left switchgear but minimised it by filing off the locating prong from the switchgear and moving it around and up the bar. Slightly more comfortable but i'm not sure about the footpegs, a bit c...

Comfort kits

Hi, has anyone tried a Comfort Kit as sold on ebay by Trickbitz? I wonder how the relocation of the footpegs works in relation to where the controls are (brake pedal and gearlever) as these can only be moved up and down a bit by adjustment? Many thanks :o

Aftermarket Radiators

Guys, I'm starting a minor resto and unsure whether to just clean up the original radiators or replace the rads with those available cheaply on ebay. Mine are working, no leaks, but they are 22 years old. The ebay jobbies look good, but are they?

Re: Optimate 4

Thanks Guys, problem solved. I was attaching the charger to an existing fixed input, and the wires on the lead attached to the positive terminal were completely severed!

Optimate 4

Hi there, I've just bought an Optimate 4 but i'm not sure it's working? I plugged it into the mains and the green "on" light came on, but nothing has changed since connecting to the bike 3 hours ago. My old Opti-something charger always flashed dependent on what it was doing at the time (c...

Thanks everyone for your advise. It's reassuring that others find the Dunslops, as you put it, rubbish as well. The concrete compound Yokohama's on my 350LC were better than the 208's! Looks like Michelins it is then! If anyone wants a pair of nearly new 208's let me know!

Those Renthals look good! :P I fitted the LSL Top Match bars which avoid cutting so much of the fairing away. They are high enough to make a difference if you don't want to go for the straight bar look. V. expensive but you can keep all the standard hoses, which is a bonus if you're rubbish with the...

Hi. your message was posted a while back, but I see you are a tyre expert. I recently fitted D208's and it's like riding on marbles! 8O The rear lets go so easily, i'm convinced the tyre is a dud! Ever had any experience of a dodgy tyre? Any advice you can give would be appreciated.

Suspension Help

I live in Kent and i'm interested in getting the forks sorted, but I understand the sites recommended contact, Revolution, is based up in Lancaster. Does anyone know a suspension guru in the South? :?:
