Drive chain tension

Hi
Should the amount of up and down slack in a chain be set with or without being sat on the bike?

Re: Short term insurance?

Try Peter James insurance.
They haven't charged me for changing bikes.

Re: Improving brakes

You've caught me out..
They're cbr600 f3 forks with an f2 wheel.
The m/cylinder is from an f2.
But they work well, there's a lot of lever travel but it's not needed as I can do one finger stoppies.
I may go down this route with the Vtr, but use the 65mm pitch calipers instead.

Re: Improving brakes

Thanks. I had just read that post before coming back here. Very informative. There are ready made caliper adapters available from Japan that enable Brembo fitment. I have these fitted to my Vfr http://i1158.photobucket.com/albums/p616/rogertwild/20140414_173144_zpsvyv42nfn.jpg http://japan.webike.ne...

Re: Improving brakes

Are they a straight swap?
I changed the fluids on Friday, its better but....typical Honda of the period.
I suppose a service won't go amiss.

Improving brakes

Hi
At the moment I have a standard brake setup with braided hoses, they're sh1t compared to my 87 Vfr.
Admittedly it's got Brembo calipers fitted.
Is there a way to improve the standard set up without the expense of Brembos?

Re: Not a Moriwaki. So what's it worth?

Subframe is a non-starter on a standard bike. It is a gen 2 Aprilia RSVR subframe cut & shut to fit. Then the undertray from the same bike with all the electrics relocated. The exhaust hangers wouldn't line up and there's a fair amount to do to get the race seat unit to sit right. It took ages ...

Re: Not a Moriwaki. So what's it worth?

Wouldn't mine an ally subframe to replace the rotting one I have.
Are they available commercially or is it a custom job?

Re: CCT in Midlands (or close enough to travel to)

Does it HAVE to be Mosfet? Have a good read through the link above > "MOSFET Regulator/Rectifiers - The Why & The How" that describes the difference between Shunt and Mosfet R/Rs, the advantages of Mosfet and lists what models and years are suitable to be used. The one youve bought fr...
