Assuming it's the reg/rec causing my problems, if I unplug it and recharge the battery, should the bike run ok? (at least until the battery voltage drops)
Thanks as ever
Neil

Re: help me troubleshoot my Storm
it sounds like fuel starvation to me. the fuel tap would be my no1 suspect. you say you have checked the vacuum pipe is attached to the correct part of the fuel tap and it is not split or leaking? it could also be the diaphragm in the fuel tap When I apply vacuum to the port on the tap, fuel flows ...

It felt like 1 cylinder was cutting in and out, and more out than in. This is obvious when its idling. It wont rev freely ...

Re: k&n filter
theres loads of info regarding aftermarket filters...most of it says that anything other than the standard filter causes running problems which are hard to tune out. When and if you do get it running right the likelyhood is you'll gain a little up top but dip in the midrange. Personally, I'm stickin...

Well done Neil. That's the main maintenance tasks sorted (except maybe the rear suspsension linkage) now it's time to modify it to within an inch of it's life  Haha yeah I've been looking on Ebay for some bits, but to be honest I'll probably leave the motor alone and just put on some light...

Oh and uk bikes don't have a D on the mixture screws so they are standard :-)
The carb screws aren't chewed up either so I reckon they're not messed with!
