Re: Starter trying to crank but cutting out
So under the boot all is grim. Didn't get it cleaned as the outer nut is done with being a nut and wants to be cut off but just a shake about and the bike starts again. Is that just bit of M6 stud? Can I renew it and the nuts? http://i1173.photobucket.com/albums/r583/dodrlk/IMG_20160620_172945.jpg

Re: Starter trying to crank but cutting out
I wonder how well this would hold up inside a fairing.

Re: Starter trying to crank but cutting out
The replacement RR is genuine Honda. I forget what bike it's from TBH but definitely a Honda. I have a DVM I can use for static tests - last time I checked I was getting solid 14 and a bit volts. A permanently mounted meter seems a good thing though  I wonder if I can get one that combines ...

Re: Starter trying to crank but cutting out
Hi guys, should have said, the RR has been replaced with a finned one. That was the first mod I did after I joined this forum :) I'll get the boot off and give that connector a check and clean. She doesn't get out in the rain much but my car has been off the road so for the last week she's been roll...

Starter trying to crank but cutting out
So as a little background, my storm has a 3 month old Yuasa that lives on an Optimate. It has been a tiny bit hesitant to start now and then but nothing to make me worry. I rode to Snowdonia from Hampshire Friday and it was fine, it was worryingly hesitant Saturday AM but then fine for the rest of t...

Anybody know this Storm on eBay?
Hi, a mate is looking to join the ranks and has his eye on this. [urlhttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-VTR-1000-FIRESTORM-S-REG-25K-MILES-PRICED-TO-CLEAR-GENUINE-EBAY-BARGAIN-/291687828685?hash=item43e9f30ccd:g:2G8AAOSwKtVWxaPz][/url] Anybody recognise it? Seems to have manual CCTs. Has a few non stan...

Re: Rattle on the overrun
I don't think it's clutch rattle - sure I had the clutch in when I was gunned the engine when I pull up after realising the noise was there but I will double check ![Thumbup ](./images/smilies/icon_thumbup.gif)

Re: Rattle on the overrun
Stopper is steel - the plain shoulder for a bolt. I'll try and get something on YouTube or Soundcloud. Sods law says this rattle goes into hiding until I roll into Calais ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Re: Rattle on the overrun
Thanks for the replies guys.
It's definitely not a CCT failure, not yet at least. This is just the hint of trouble down the line - The problem is that down the line includes a 2-3k mile tour of Austria and I don't want this rattle coming with me.

Rattle on the overrun
So I reckon I should throw an earplug free ride into my routine every now and then. Normally I never leave home without them but took an unusually short ride today so didn't bother...and noticed an intermittent and feint but still worrying rattle from the back right of the engine. Pretty sure it's o...

Re: Which Eastern Beaver kit?
Cool - thanks for the info and tips. Very much appreciated.
Looks like I have a crazy fun filled wiring weekend ahead sometime very soon then - as well as the EB I have a USB socket I've been avoiding and have just bought a sat nav too. Yay!

Cheers Wicky  EB order placed :D Just googled the angled holder - is that angled cable exit you are talking about? Which Eastern Beaver kit?
Hi folks, not been around here for a while but now I needs your clever so am crawling back... Not sure why but my headlight beam looked decidedly yellow last night so I have resolved to get some Eastern Beaver action on the go. There are two options though - "In shell" or "In fairing&...
