Headlight bulb

Want to stay legal...found this bulb at a decent price....just wondered...will it produce excessive heat or is it OK to use with no mods?

Re: Wheel bearing removal - easy tip

When your putting them back in put the bearings in the freezer overnight that works too, they almost push in by hand providing you clean the housings. Thanks for that...will do! Should be back on the road Monday... Oh, just remembered how to post pics.... http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e12/pembr...

Re: Wheel bearing removal - easy tip

I was surprised at the difference it made....(they're a correct machine fit)...I suspect this is a first replacement as it's a one previous owner bike with just 25,000 miles. Just tapped out nice 'n easy.

Wheel bearing removal - easy tip

Just taken the old wheel bearings out of my 'Storm. After much procrastination, was really easy. Once the wheel was removed, along with the sprocket carrier, just poured boiling water in to the recesses surrounding the bearings, to expand the alloy around the bearing housing. Bearings just tapped ou...

MOT advisories

Had 2 small advisories on my Storm's MOT last September...cush drive and a bit of play in rear wheel bearing. Haven't done the jobs yet (only done about 1,500 miles on the bike since), but just interested to know if a test station will pass a vehicle that had unresolved advisories? I'm guessing not...

Re: Bought another !!!!!

Congrats! I bought my manual cct's then sat on them over the winter before fitting them a month ago. When I read your post (and the bad luck of the guy who sold you the bike) I thought heck....that could have been me!

Manual CCTs just fitted...all is well!

Yay!! Started immediately and sounds great. You're right...a different sound than before but smooth and rattle free (that's the bike...not me).
Huge thanks to Cybercarl for those instructions and thanks to others for your support and knowledge.

Great forum.

Re: manual cct's hints and tips

Just finished mine.... excellent instructions from the site...logical and very well written....could not have tackled it without them. Good idea to cable tie the chain to each cam sprocket prior to removing the old tensioner. When fitting the new tensioner, I locked them up at 7 mm play then put a d...

Re: CCT renewal...ready to test run

All rebuilt...just the fairing to put back on. May be a dumb question but is it OK to start and run the bike before I refit the fairing? Ne electricals to worry about? Don't want to trip at the last hurdle!

Re: Use gasket seal on rocker cover gaskets? CCT renewal...

Covers are now back on....took my time to make sure they were seated OK and no sealant used. Was careful not to over tighten...thanks for that tip!
Should be running over the weekend...fingers crossed!
