Rear wheel bearings

Hi...got an advisory on my MOT that I need to replace my rear wheel bearings. Do I need a special tool to remove the old bearings...or will they simply tap out using a bar from the opposite side? I looked on the PDF repair manual but it recommends a special Honda tool...is this really needed?

cct's...best option and supplier?

I have searched the forum re cct's...just wondered who is the preferred supplier? My Storm has 25,000 miles but is on the original factory cct's. Time to change?

Re: Thinking of an XBR500...any thoughts?

Yep, I really like the GB500TT but they are a lot more money....seen one at 2,500 quid.

Are these bikes (XBR or the TGB) likely to appreciate as time goes by? Not sure.....

Thinking of an XBR500...any thoughts?

Looking to add a Honda XBR500 to the Storm. Any one have any experience of these? This is an '85 bike, standard trim and excellent condition. Quite like the soft 'café racer' look without trying too hard to be a Gold Star....

Thoughts :?:

LED running lights

Love 'em or hate 'em, those new LED front lights add extra awareness...so I bought a pair with a view to fitting one just under the headlight (below the fairing) on my Storm. They arrived today. There are three wires on each light; Red...says 'to ignition'. Black....says to 'negative ground'. There'...

Re: Miss Your Storm - Would you? Do You? Why?

This is my second Storm and right now I can't see me parting with it. Had allsorts before....Buell Lightning, Victory Vegas, BMW R1100S and others, but prefer the Storm in most areas. Closest comparison (for me) is the Buell for the ride, but the Storm nails it for speed.

Best engine oil?

I know this is a much discussed topic...tried searching first....
Preference on engine oil? I used Amsoil in my Firestorm in Canada but not sure if it's available here. Any suggestions for an alternative?

Re: Who makes these?

I think it's a Johnny Pag....US company. Saw them when living in Canada. 320 cc engine, and very affordable if you're on a small budget.

Re: Headlight beam deflector - advice?

Thanks!! Excellent advice. I assume that, as the beam will shine up and to the right, that the tape would go on the bottom left of the headlight as you sit on the bike...does that sound correct?

Headlight beam deflector - advice?

Just about to take my Firestorm for its first MOT since importing in from Canada. (This is my own bike I brought back with me). Suspect it might need a deflector to stop the dip beam shining the wrong way (driven on opposite side of road in Canada, like USA). Anyone got experience of this and can of...

Storm transport needed - Whitley Bay

Brought my bike over from Canada and need to move it from storage to our new home...Whitley Bay. Any local folks got a bike trailer / van and ramps that can transport it? I don't expect a freebie, and it's only a 3 mile trip....but I need to do work on the indicators for the MOT and can't ride it le...

Re: My list of bikes

Yep, I loved the looks, and the engine was very very sweet. About 100 hp and gobs of torque....good job, as the brakes were useless! Ride was great, didn't jar your spine... Noise was fab, had aftermarket (Victory) pipes fitted. Alas, I could not live with the handling...with the feet forward I just...
