Use gasket seal on rocker cover gaskets? CCT renewal...

Use gasket seal on rocker cover gaskets?

I'm fitting my manual CCTs....should I add a smear of instant gasket around the base of the rubber gasket before setting the rocker cover back on the cylinder head?

Re: manual cct's

Thanks Floyd and Popkat....I got some CCTs off Ade a few weeks back and I'll tackle this over the next few days. I even called the previous owner of the bike in Canada to check his history of CCTs on the bike. This guy owned a Honda dealership and this was his personal toy...but he had never fitted ...

Re: Battery / electrial problem - help please...

Fitted a new R/R to the Storm today. Have a new battery charging right now but used a spare battery (not the one that cooked) to 'test run' the bike. All seems to be working fine. Had a thought.....when the bike is sat idling there's a lot of heat off the rear exhaust (I have Jardine high pipes on t...

Fitting manual CCT's...

Got my manual cct's and ready to fit. Always easier if you can work alongside someone who's done it before! Anyone around the Whitley Bay (Newcastle) area available? I have the tackle and a nice dry garage....

Thanks Wicky! Rest of electrical accessories etc still worked OK and bike ran fine...just this problem. I'll fit the new reg / rec and then a new battery. Cheers.

Battery / electrical problem - sorted

Just returned from a 90 minute ride this morning and bike smells like burning biscuits :? Traced the smell to the battery...wife said it smelled like sulphur so that was an ace clue. Battery was red hot...too hot to touch and bulging on all sides ...flippin' 'eck! I have limited knowledge on electri...

What speed does countersteering kick in?

I know that we subconsciously counter steer our bikes...but only after a certain speed. Often wondered how we kind of just know...practice or just natural? It's a long long time since I first jumped on a motorbike but can remember wobbling around like a drunk until I got the hang of it. Does the cou...

Are you crazy why are you coming back to this poo hole part of the world. Ha ha!! We moved back to the east coast on the Northumberland border...fabulous place to be! 5 mins to beach and great biking roads. Canada has pro's and cons like any other place you live...but the worst was the winters. We ...

Shipped my VTR from Canada....

Returned to the motherland UK after 12 years in Canada this past spring. I had just purchased my (second) Firestorm over there...and as it is in really great condition, and after lots of indecision, decided to bring it back in the container with the rest of our stuff. Question was...how can I ship i...
