Re: MCCT's. Best place to buy anyone?

Looking at that, my assumption is the bolt has a bearing around its neck? The plunger just slides up and down the bolt controlled by relevant tension on the spring?! So is the spring is the most commonly failing part through fatigue? No surprise considering how the coil of thin wire is under conside...

Re: MCCT's. Best place to buy anyone?

Ahh, now I'm assuming (correct accordingly) that Bazza converts the auto's to manuals?

Can see how that would be very cost affective and mechanically effective all at the same time. Is anyone able to explain the procedure or have an illustration of the internals by any chance?

MCCT's. Best place to buy anyone?

This post is probably better off in the wanted part of sales + wants but I don't have 50 posts yet so cannot post there. Apologies in advance if posting this here is wrong! Anyway, would there be anyone out there who could point me in the right direction for MCCT's at a reasonable price please? Can ...

Re: Sigma vs. Dynojet carb kits

Is it? So hot air going into the inlet helps, does it? That rather blows the "cold intake being denser, therefore having more potential molecules of oxygen to produce better combustion" theory out of the window. (sigh) I'll put the intercooler back on Ebay...... It was meant to ...

Re: Sigma vs. Dynojet carb kits

Soooo, reading Hawks post, getting standard jets and needles and ensuring the primary are #48's then blocking one of the holes in the front slider as well as replacing the front shim with a 0.5mm one and ADDING 0.5mm to the rear gives significant improvements? I just wonder if blocking one hole up c...

Re: Sigma vs. Dynojet carb kits

Thanks once again Cybercarl and I will say that you have a vast amount of experience with VTR's in comparison to myself and take on-board what you say. [how the hell is a kit bought over the counter or on the internet meant to be tailored to suit your particular engine, mileage, rev range ridden in ...

Re: Sigma vs. Dynojet carb kits

Thanks Wicky. I presume that reading a post of an american forum was the intention (had to copy and paste into search engine as direct link didn't work, but no bother). From what I gathered, as well as the MOSFET rectifiers being better equipped to control the currents, the R1 version was largely su...

Re: Sigma vs. Dynojet carb kits

Any tidy posts for re-wiring the rectifier or is it a direct fit? All I've read is the R1 reggy-rec is an ideal replacement. You'll need a Yam FH marked 'MOSFET' type R/R rather than a SH type. Wow, no UK sellers! What's the significance with the difference in models? Also, does it fit on the recti...

Re: Sigma vs. Dynojet carb kits

Whether you even need a jet kit is debatable, but having adjustable needles can be useful. On the subject of needles you sat they will obviously be showing signs of wear. Don't forget the other end (needle jets) where the needle slides in. These also wear, and will wear to the shape of the needles ...

Re: Sigma vs. Dynojet carb kits

Thanks leevtr, good to see you had a positive experience with your set up, it's encouraging. I'm not a fan of K&N tbh, I feel pipecross probably offer more in terms of performance gains but I have no intention of track riding so will probably stick with standard air filter (likely order it tonig...

Re: Sigma vs. Dynojet carb kits

Thanks Cybercarl, very informative topic and now have myself wondering which route to go down... HRC obviously more desirable but also more costly (plus can't seem to find them in stock anywhere and where they are listed (unavailable), they're a sweet 250 euro). This is the sigma version I have seen...

Sigma vs. Dynojet carb kits

Anyone have experience with either or both? Is the difference significant after an upgrade of either? The other thing is does anyone know if there is any difference in carbs between our British firestorm versions across the pond super hawk versions? There is a substantial difference in price buying ...

Thanks again all, I'll have her up to standard as soon as possible... Lost out on a set of cans earlier but still can't find a set of new headers anywhere, I'm genuinely surprised by that one!

Re: Fresh blood....

I can't help but potch with bikes... It must be in the blood or something :whatever The CBR was bought as a project... couldn't decide at the time whether I wanted to restore or fighter it - many many many pounds later and it now looks like a um, rat-fighter I suppose. But the CBR is getting torn ap...
