Re: Tyre warmers
If you are using them for trackdays, you can also factor in the cost of crashing on cold tires, which happens alot. I have raced 13 yrs and only ever used the single temp warmers. I have chicken hawks and tire sox. The sox are less expensive, but have outlasted like 8 pairs of chicken hawks and suzu...

For me in the same situation, I used valves made for aquariums to regulate air flow and calm things down. Baring that, try kinking the tubes, but its only a couple bucks (quid) for the valves.

Re: July 4th (touchy subject(?)
What film are you guys speaking of. Born on the 4th of July or independance day? Kind of a boatload of movies about the 4th & revolutionary war.

July 4th (touchy subject(?)
So here in the States we are celebrating our independance day. Always wondered if you blokes are aware of it, or is it a sore subject? Are you happy for us or do people grumble about the insolent upstarts?
To us we figure the hatchet was burried long ago & the UK is still family.

Re: speedometer/tacho/temp.
Mine are cbr600. The 1000 are probly superior if only due to closer redline, but the 600 clocks have tons of sweep so in real life you dont notice. I got mine for like $160 shipped (105 pounds). The 1000 clocks were going for twice that much.

Wow, there is no decorum of putting a courtesy "spoiler alert" on these tags huh? Just blurting the info in the headline kinda spoils the excitement for those of us who cant watch it live.

Re: Look Mum, no standard undertray!
I like your work, but would be concerned about the jarring shockwaves now going directly to the ecu/black box. Those things are isolated from solid frame members for a very specific engineering reason. Seems like their lives will be shortened by an order of magnitude (approx). So I guess dont stray ...

You can acually make a nice box in there out of sheet metal. Mine can carry a 4 foot kryptonite chain and huge armored padlock, plus tools.

Re: Smaller rear sprocket
Divisible combinations? I gotta know, how does the divisibility enter into it? Is the logic that the same part of the chain lands on the same teeth? Is it the plumage? Gripping by the husks?

Re: Why riders dont wear gear
If you wear mesh gear, its not much different than none temp wise. I race in full gear at 103*F (39.4C) and you really get used to it. Spending months recovering from skin grafts is way harder to get used to.

Re: Why riders dont wear gear
Luck of the draw, or stacking the deck in your favor? Yeah, its a personal choice, I get that. Doesnt negate which is a better choice. I just can't go for the situational ethics. Riding wrecklessly on a public road ungeared is always dumber than going to a racetrack. Yeah, you are free to be stupid,...

Why riders dont wear gear
Why riders dont wear gear and/or make bad decisions. This facinates me as a race/ride instrutor. Also when talking to new riders about their perception of risk vs reward. Human have adapted bad ways of believing things, like the lottery. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-4flnuxNV4 This is similar if ...
