Re: Will a Hornet ohlins shock fit?

Just FYI, the VTR shock is unusually long, so that pretty much applies to any other models too...

Re: Knees don't like the Storm

After surgery on my left leg a couple of years back I struggled to bend my knee with the staples - I was able by fitting a Kawasaki footpeg to drop the gear change peg by an inch or so, and continue riding. Not sure it would also work on the right (brake) side as the pipe and brake lever doesn't se...

Re: Are We All Balancing our Carbs Wrong

Guys, re read the carb synchronisation bit in the factory manual. IMHO it should be 20mm Hg or 0.8 inch Hg difference, not that the rear has to be pulling more than the front. Verbatim:- Carburetor Vacuum Difference: 20mm Hg (0.8 inch) no where does it say to make the rear cylinder have a higher va...

Re: dreaded cct after 48hr ownership :-(

Best way to get manual CCT's is to just make them out of the auto's... A drill press and a thread tap, and you just put a M8 coach bolt straight through, with a lock nut on it to lock it in place... It's the cheapest, most reliable way...

Bummer about the busted engine...

Re: Are We All Balancing our Carbs Wrong

I see some logic in what you say but it's not strictly correct. As the carb butterfly opens, vacuum reduces. At wot there is virtually no vacuum, also, the wider the butterflies are open, the less effect of them being marginally out will be. Having said that, my bike is balanced perfectly at tickov...

Re: Are We All Balancing our Carbs Wrong

As for the 20 mmHg... It's worth fiddling with, I'm about to go into the carbs anyways, so I might as well try it...

Re: Are We All Balancing our Carbs Wrong

I balance the carbs so they both read the same at 2.5 rpm and I never get carb farts and you can feel both cylinders pulling the same on the throttle . I'm very interested to know why you choose to balance them specifically at 2500rpm? Phil sent from my 'phone I always balance at 2500 and check at ...

Re: Regulator checking procedure ?

If it's older than a year, and stock Honda, or various non-OEM manufacturers, like Ricks, and other crap... The testing procedure really should end there... Why waste time and effort to find out what you already know? Swap it for a NEW OEM Honda one or a new OEM Yamaha one of older model, or a good ...

Re: ECU..

An ignition map that can be altered via computer software. I think but I'm not 100% on that with specifically the HRC unit as it may be a fixed map with that, but it defo removes all the limitations that the standard electronics have like speed limiter, emissions restrictions etc. What would be nic...

Re: Microsoft XP what now

Why would you want to upgrade? Microsoft have withdrawn support for XP so no more back up i think it leaves it open to attack :Slap: :Gun4: :Gun1: Well, it was that before they stopped support, so I really don't understand the difference... But I'm probably daft... I mean, really... What difference...

Re: Dr. Honda Stacks

I have a few pairs lying around... I might be willing to part with a pair... Beer tokens works, but I rather have nice shiny bike parts... (Like i don't have enough!) Where in the world would someone find parts you don't have but would like? Well... I'm rather sure you could make a few... :r...
