Re: Firestorm v SP1 suspension

Thanks MacV2.....Thought I had done the essentials, Finned Reg/rec fitted and a set of ROAS manual ccts.... See what you mean about keeping your wallet handy !! Not being put off though, much prefer the power characteristics of the V Twin to a straight 4...will be keeping this one for a while ! .......

Firestorm v SP1 suspension

Have realised just how poor the standard suspension setup is on the Storm. After a fried breakfast at the Bikers cafe in Sandwich this morning I had the pleasure of following a mate on his SP1 back via the 'Wingham Bends'. (Approx 5 miles of country lanes, mostly good surface, good visibility throug...

Re: Big thanks !

Think the black wrap would look good with a black bike...the secret with applying it is to soak it well and stretch it as you wind it round the pipe.
Have a look on YouTube for 'Exhaust wrapping'

Re: Big thanks !

Black is best !! Thinking of Hyperpro springs at the front, black powder coating the legs and watching the thread re the F4i rear shock with interest.... May have to consider a later tank as am now burning gas at a faster rate as I get more used to the bike ! Not sure about getting the custom paint ...

Re: Big thanks !

Been out every day lately; some lovely roads with very few cameras in Kent !

The power delivery of a V Twin is much better and so different to a straight 4.
Definately suits my style of riding, wish I had discovered the Storm years ago!

Re: Big thanks !

Unfortunately not. Have just popped out and taken 2 more to show the best I can.
Used about 4m of a 5m roll to do the front pipe.

Re: Big thanks !

Bought the bike 6 weeks ago on Ebay after 2nd chance offer. It had been custom painted following a parking spill! See http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&rt=nc&nma=true&item=180925505369&si=EASo1EbYmUmw0enx8j3vD1lQozA%253D&viewitem=&sspagen...

Re: Big thanks !

The downpipe looked a mess. I tried wirebrushing it and spraying with vht paint; lasted all of a week before they looked as bad again! Stainless or ceramic coating would be the best answer, but talking mega-bucks. Trawling FleaBay I found rolls of exhaust wrap at £20 or so. Watched Youtube to see ho...

Big thanks !

Have owned my storm some 6 weeks now. Thanks to advice and knowledge on this forum it is now fit for use! Far too many of you to thank individually, but you know who you are! Standard cans (welds had split on both) replaced with de-baffled set (more noise = safety!), Fuel tank reserve sensor arm was...

Re: Dartford Crossing protocol..

Thanks fellas, Trip to London went okay; gained a bit of useful info....the speed cameras on both the QE2 bridge and the northbound approach to the tunnel are now live in the 50mph sections! Chatting to a friendly Highways Agency escort driver (900 FireGuard owner) he warned me that the cameras are ...
